Not a healthy environment

Pros

Most people are nice and friendly, will help you when you first start

Cons

Managers do not care about the wellbeing of their staff, especially mental health. Only care about targets, producing numbers and making money for the store. Have unrealistic expectations on staff. If the store is quiet with customers, you cannot expect to make 5 figures a day??? And on top of that, force customers to buy.

Pros

-Discount for clothes -Fantastic team embers -Corporate perks

Cons

I enjoy working there, however, as I work in a smaller store you have to do a bit of everything. Especially if you are working long shifts, this is physically and mentally tiring as you have a list of duties to do before your shifts finish. I would not recommend the Keyholder position to anyone as you more or less do the same amount of work as a supervisor but you don't get paid the same!!!

Pros

50% discount.. there is nothing else good about this job. The 50% is bearable even though the products are shoddy.

Cons

- rude as hell management - if you're not liked by 1 person in the management clique, you are not getting very far. - if you are not in this clique, your contract will be changed and you will be forced to sign a new one (less hours) - if you are not in the clique, you will be treated as if every effort you make is not good enough - you will be constantly scrutinised - the people who sail by while you do all the work will get the glory once they do one good thing aka any effort put into actually doing their job.. like not moaning when they are asked to assist a customer. - constantly being watched and waited upon to mess up or take one second to breathe. - not allowed to have a what's app group chat in case you are "bad mouthing the company or store in question" - no social life - long shifts with sometimes only 10 hours inbetween your next shift - shift changes and nobody tells you - shift changes with less than 24 hours notice - no training assistance, you get put on a till to complete modules and then left to your own devices and then are moaned at for not doing it in 5 minutes. - the cleaners don't clean anything although they are paid to, you end up cleaning up everything they were supposed to do (NOT IN THE JOB DESCRIPTION) - not a good wage wage - work yourself silly to hit targets and moaned at when you don't by 1% because the managers won't get a bonus. But won't put any effort in to reach those targets - no room for growth as you will be moved around constantly because you can not change job roles in the same store. (Unless you have means of transport and no housing contracts and no need to sleep for 8 hours every night) - if they need hours they will take them from you, like previously stated they will lower your contract or just force you out of the company on ridiculous grounds. "You have too many absenses" (my grandfather died not long after I had my appendix removed but I'm sorry for you inconvince) - you will be on your toes if their is a visit that day off someone from head office (as expect from every company completely understandable) except they never show up or bother to tell people they're not showing up. Just let us waste man hours trying to make everything perfect for you. - abuse of power.. I am not here to run and get you coffee, I am here to get Angela a size 10 in the lovely blue dress she saw on he mannequin as she walked in.
