-Great opportunity to work with Big Pharma and Biotechs. Interesting projects ranging from functional teams to C-suit. -Senior leadership are very caring and really values everyone's input and manages client expectations to promote excellent work-life balance. -Open and flexible working culture.

Pros
Great opportunities to work with senior clients (executive pharma/biotech leaders) on interesting projects that focus on whole organisation/team strategy and operations. Close knit team who value each other, including what we do outside work (great work-life balance!) Projects build in time for constructive discussion and brainstorming with partners, creating learning opportunities, and opening the door so everyone's views are heard Open and flexible working culture
Cons
Be prepared for the realities of working in a small company, and the proactivity that is required

Pros
- Pharma-focused consulting with a great variety of work where almost every project is different from the previous - Great exposure to Partners and senior clients, every team member is expected to contribute in client meetings - Fantastic work-life balance, especially for consulting, where being free in the evening is the rule rather than the exception
Cons
- Lack of choice in projects. While the projects are varied, given the firm is small, you don't often have a choice on what projects you get staffed on - Given the small size of the firm there is limited opportunity to get experience managing large project teams

Novasecta is a great team of people, with interesting and varied work, global clients, caring/approachable management and a genuinely good work-life balance.
Cons
None that come to mind.

Pros
* Rich and diverse client projects from small biotech to Big Pharma across the entire pharmaceutical value chain * Experience in addressing tough and complex strategic, performance and leadership issues through a blend of qualitative and quantitative analysis * Early exposure to client executives * Early interaction with highly experienced Partners on project work Management is really committed to providing this experience for the team, in a way that genuinely respects work-life flexibility.
Cons
As a growing boutique firm Novasecta has had its moments in the past where the culture was not what it should have been. Management has changed, The Managing Partner has learned a lot, is still learning, and takes the action that he believes is best for the firm.

Pros
Pharma-focused. Some interesting projects. Managing partner is very knowledgeable about the industry, especially European mid-sized pharmas. Book library with interesting titles is shared with everyone. Good work-life balance with little travel.
Cons
Extremely high turnover among consultants and senior consultants. Little room for growth; senior managers are very insecure and do not trust more junior team members. Personal development is limited. Firm feels like a lifestyle business without a strong sense of purpose and collective ambition.

Cons

Pros
- Opportunity to work closely with very senior clients on exciting projects addressing major strategic issues - Broad spectrum of strategic projects across R&D and commercial functions gives great exposure to different areas of the pharma and biotech industry - Challenging and fast paced work without the long hours that are so common in consulting; the wellbeing of employees is a priority - High levels of responsibility including interactions with clients even at a junior level, due to the small size of the team and the collaborative approach to projects - Opportunity for international travel for important client meetings and events - Extremely approachable partners who really care about their people inside and outside of work - Partners seek the input of the rest of the team to collaboratively shape the company direction and priorities; regular team offsites ensure our views are heard - Good balance of office working and working from home: minimum of 3 days per week in the office creates a sociable and supportive team environment, and option to work from home the rest of the week gives great flexibility - The company is generous and happy to invest in their employees. This includes learning and development opportunities as well as organised company events
Cons
- Small team size means you often don't have much control over which projects you are assigned to work on - Less structured or formal training compared to larger firms - mostly 'on-the-job' learning coupled with ad-hoc external courses which the company is happy to fund
