Pros
- Inhouse subsidised canteen. - Opportunities to join charity events and raise money. - Staff car park
Cons
- It feels very much like all employees aren't trusted by senior management. - The business is family owned and run and it means there are little opportunities for career development as these roles are given only to family. - The pay rate is at the lowest end of the scale. - There is a reliance on using excel for ALL internal reporting. The IT systems are in need of a update. - Certain departments are very unprofessional. On more than one occasion confidential documentation was left in the office printer and personal information regarding myself was shared to staff who had no need for it. - I was prevented from attending a doctors appointment. - Some staff members are very unpleasant to work with on the top floor. The management are afraid to let these staff members go due to the volume of information they hold. Yet - these people make the working conditions horrible. - Lunch and break times are monitored by timing in and out tags. If you accidently take more than your breaktime you are penalised and your pay is reduced. However, these rules and tags are not given to family staff members. This is very unfair and creates a bad atmosphere. - There are attempts to rule through fear instead of motivating staff through benefits. - There are no yearly performance reviews. - There is a full day of training on day 1 that has no relevance to the role. - There is a lot of 'gossiping' throughout all staff members. This makes the working conditions horrible. - There is an extremely high staff turnover. Working with new people on a monthly basis as people won't stay makes working hard and requires constant retraining. - Stealing in the office meant I could not leave mundane items on my desk as I was afraid of anything of sentimental value in my work station. - There is no staff motivation. Very few people (apart from family) had much nice to say about the company. - There is a kitchen on the top floor to make tea but, staff members are not allowed to use it. It is the epitome of bad manners and shows how they think off staff. - The company is filled with staff that are straight out of Uni into their first job. It feels like a place that is not taken seriously. - I disclosed during interview that I had holidays booked. I was hired with PRM having the knowledge that the holidays were booked. Once the holiday was pending they suddenly denied any knowledge that I had told them I had booked them and made the few weeks leading up to the holiday very stressful as they would not confirm I could take off the dates. I feel this was the first attempt to lead through fear and I confirmed months later by looking at the interview documents that I had mentioned the dates in my interview so, I was very angry the whole event happened. This was so unprofessional and nasty. - There are no real benefits. There is no working from home. Those with children must work in the role for a number of years before requesting reduced hours and out of the full management floor (30 people) only 3 were allowed reduced hours and worked for the company for over 20 years each. This is due to the sheer amount of knowledge they held about the company and the senior management were afraid of them leaving. - I was paid incorrectly twice in my time and when I was asked to be reimbursed I was treated terribly and to chase it multiple times.
