Pros

Met a few great developers who really want to help you move forward.

Cons

The problem is mainly with the management, they make it impossible to succeed as you will goals and objectives as you do anywhere. However, even if you complete what is asked for the response you get is it's not up to the company standard, eventhough the code already in place is shocking and is very difficult to maintain but unwilling to change it. Also if you do end up going for a job here, be very careful of what you say to people as many employees here feedback everything to management regardless, which the management throw at you in one to ones where you get purely negative feedback and things are exaggerated to make you look worse. If you take anything away from this review even if you go for the job is to be cautious at all times they are not the type of friendly management they appear to be.

Very badly managed

Pros

My salary was reasonable. Apparently, I need to write at least five words. There really weren't that many pros.

Cons

Very badly managed. New clients offered services we didn't have the technology or resources to offer. Micro-managed from the US. Local management have practically zero discretion. Even minor decisions need to be approved by US committee (which may only meet every month or two). 1 for 2 replacement policy (ie. for every two people who leave they are only replacing one) so that there is an enormous amount of pressure on existing staff. Because getting replacement staff is so hard, management are too scared to get rid of anyone, even if they're incompetent because they won't be replaced. This means there are a lot of people there who should have been sacked for poor performance years ago. Serious cost cutting everywhere. No real investment in tech or upgrades for years -- all ancient. Even minor bug fixes can take years to go through the system. This company is so badly managed in the UK, I find it difficult to believe it's only incompetence. Can't help wondering if it's a managed 'wind down'.

Pros

- 20% discount in the liver building cafe - Iconic office location

Cons

- Low salaries and overall benefits - Bonuses pretty much non existent as are wage increases - No opportunity for career growth unless someone leaves or retires. - Staff turnover very high - Too many temp staff, not enough to cover workload - Progression and pay rises are only offered if you present a resignation letter and threaten to leave. Often too little too late.
