Poorly managed startup who fire their employees by email
Pros
The pay was ok otherwise there are no pros due to the ineffective management style of the CEO and COO. The work is interesting and important, but the CEO and COO do not know how to manage or support employees.

*Complained about my time management, but frequently pulled me aside for unplanned meetings thus making it impossible to plan my time. *Hired me full time but only allowed me to work half days (20 hours/week) and complained I wasn't completing tasks fast enough. *Explicitly told me they needed someone to work at the PhD or Postdoc level but the job listing required a master's. Then they proceed to only hire people with Bachelor's degrees despite being near a university with a Entomology and Nematology graduate students. *Fired me by email abruptly and didn't allow me to collect anything I happened to have left at the office. It was within their rights to fire me but doing so by email was unprofessional and lazy. *Need to take notes during meetings? They don't like that. Have a question to make sure one is doing a task correctly? They also don't like that. Strong micromanaging tendencies.
