Pros

Working with the children and alongside other BTs/RBTs as well as Mary, BCBA.

Cons

Management: I'm going to keep it simple as these reviews are meant to guide potential employees. "Culture is how employees' hearts and stomachs feel about Monday morning on Sunday night." -Victoria Repa Every Sunday night, I absolutely dreaded the next day because I never knew if management was going to be in a good mood or go on a tirade. This is not a place you want to work for. If you have a second choice, pick that one over playdate. You will hate your life for the brief amount of time you spend here because the culture has become so warped. Platdate is simply a pit stop on your way to a better company. Good luck with your search.

Pros

The kids are wonderful but they deserve more compassionate and effective care.

Cons

This is the worse job I've had in my entire life...don't waste your time! The management gossip about staff they don't like, party with staff they do like, and never hold themselves accountable for their own mistakes. They set an unprofessional and chaotic tone and blame others without hesitation. They don't know the meaning of collaboration and will trash-talk speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school representatives, and even caregivers! Remember, the way they treat others is eventually how they will treat you, as I have watched them fire our best people pretty much every week this year. Between October and December, half our senior team resigned, the scheduling team, the front desk support, and the lead of the employee childcare program. As a result staff are double and tripled up with kids, during 1:1 therapy, which is unethical. At this point, it's a sinking ship and many of us are getting ready to go. You know it's bad when they start asking new staff for 5 star reviews - very disappointing all around.

Don't expect a friendly parting, or a long career

Pros

The kids themselves are super pleasant to be around.

Cons

You may notice, after a few months of employment, that you are now working with an almost entirely new team. This is not coincidental. Management likes to cycle through employees like disposable razors. You get baited in with promise of raises during review times, but don't expect you will get many of those. Playdate does not compensate for driving time, you are "off the clock" when driving to and from client homes (except in the case of the summer outings to parks and the like).
