Pros

Literally no pros for working here. Completely chaotic and disgraceful entity masquerading as the champion of human rights.

Cons

I was hired by Pogust in last year. The interview stage was a disaster, I was interviewed by two associates who were rude and disruptive and then recieved a rejection from them. A few weeks later they wrote back and said that they had mistakenly rejected me and would like to proceed. My second interview was a conversation with the CEO who made me the offer and apologised for the mess up. After that, I spent three months communicating with them via email as they had to sort out my visa. Communication was really horrible, and the entire HR team was laid off during that time. I finally arrived in the UK, and joined the firm. No line manager was assigned for the next 5 days. There was no proper induction, introduction and I was thrown in the deep end, made to do odd tasks and didnt have a proper chat with my line manager for the first 3 weeks. After 6 weeks of working there, I was fired and was told that the employment had been terminated because I was no longer suited for the role. HR told me that they had made a mistake in hiring me and had thought that I was someone much senior with loads of experience. They said that it was an error on their part and they would help me secure employment elsewhere (all lies). I was left confused, helpless and had no idea what to do because I had moved to the UK from the US for this particular job. They really are a shameless bunch of people, who wasted my time, caused severe emotional and financial stress. I am not the only person who has suffered this at their hands. An entire year of my life was wasted due to them. I really hope people see them for what they are.

A mess

Pros

Some of the work was interesting, and some colleagues were genuinely lovely people. Employee perks weren’t bad either.

Cons

Chaotic beyond description. The most toxic legal work environment I have ever seen, where paralegals were divided up and goaded on to compete for actual legal tasks. The solicitors generally treated paralegals awfully. Rude and outright disrespectful behaviour came up more times that I care to coun. There was also a huge divide between the client facing and legal-work focused teams, with the actually lawyers barely knowing what was going on with their own clients. The firm threw copious amounts of money out for socials, mainly for the upper-hierarchy legal teams, but those at the lower end didn’t see much. Many paralegals lost their jobs due to cuts for “business reasons”, despite many having been informally assured their jobs were secure. There is also no overtime pay, at least when I was there. The contract was carefully drafted to squeeze paralegals for time and not remunerate. Many of my colleagues spent extra hours unpaid in the hopes of getting better work only to find themselves thrown out with everyone else. It didn’t take me long to jump ship myself after that. I was far from the only one, the place has a bit of a rotating door from the paralegal to partner level.

Pros

There are some nice, honest and smart people working for the company.

Cons

There is absolutely no room for career growth or development. If you're looking to advance your career, look elsewhere. The management team, including the Partners and Managers, are inexperienced and self-centered. They lack the necessary skills to lead effectively and only care about their own interests. Plus, there is an overall abusive management culture within the company. While some Partners are making substantial money through some cases and investors, this money is not shared with the hardworking employees who contribute to the cases. The company heavily markets a single case that the CEO found as an opportunity to gain fame and money. This is purely for personal gain and not a true reflection of the company's capabilities and values. The Partners and Managers are essentially the CEO’s "schoolboys", lacking real management experience. This leads to a chaotic and disorganized work environment. The company has made false claims in the media, such as promising to pay newly qualified lawyers more than any other law firm. This is completely untrue and just another example of their deceitful practices. Overall, this company is a complete mess and not worth your time or effort. Stay away if you value your career and integrity.
