Pros

I really enjoyed working with the staff there - the team is fantastic! They are a friendly, helpful and very welcoming group of people! They made me feel right at home from the very beginning and helped me ease into the new role seamlessly. The office is in a nice, central location and easily accessible. The product is also very strong and has a great competitive edge and good potential if steered correctly.

Cons

What I didn't like about working at Policy Medical is the extremely long hours, zero work life balance, high level of micromanagement by the CEO and constant pressure and stress of getting everything done right away and responding to customers instantly. I worked in a customer facing role and was expected to answer emails/calls at all times of the day and night including weekends for no extra pay or incentive. The workload is extremely intense in this company, and I found the staff to be tired and stressed out all the time. They complain a lot when the CEO is away. The CEO is also extremely difficult to deal with. His expectations are very unrealistic - he expects people to surrender their lives to this company without any type of additional compensation. He is not approachable or friendly and if you bring up your concerns to him he will consider you to be lazy and not a "team player". It was extremely frustrating and painful working with this man.

A sinking ship, with frustrated customers

Pros

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The office is very open concept and everyone is easily approachable. There is opportunity to bring forth new ideas to improve the process and workflow. The product has come a long way and is constantly being updated to reflect customer concerns. CEO gives each employee a ton of attention daily and always checks in to see what you are working on.

Cons

Although the CEO preaches work/life balance, he is not respectful of employees' free time, expects more than what is humanly possible. He will never be satisfied even if you are working 24/7. Getting late night emails with demands is just part of the high stress load you can expect at policy medical. Company has the highest turnover I have seen in a while, and this will not change unless the CEO changes his outlook and expectations. It is also common practice to over exaggerate the product's capabilities to the customers, which leads to huge frustration after the clients have paid top dollar for a product that doesn't deliver what was promised.

Slimeball CEO

Pros

The staff were great. That was the biggest pro. They have good quality snacks and coffee/tea as well.

Cons

CEO is someone you would never trust with anything. Lies to employees faces with a smile. Very vindictive (hired managers etc to undermine employees that he had disagreements with), but tries to come off as a nice guy. Sold the company and most staff were let go as a result. CEO told some departments they were safe from being let go, but that was another lie. He even went so far as to tell some NOT to work on our resumes; they were safe. Screwed over laid-off employees with the barest of severance packages. I could say more, but I won't.
