      Pros

      This is one of the most dynamic, transparent and fun places to work. The most enjoyable aspect of it is that you're constantly learning, constantly evolving and developing. It is also incredible that the leadership team has no egos. they are honest, hard-working, good people that lead by example. I consider myself blessed to have found this opportunity.

      Cons

      It is an entrepreneurial company that's growing fast, so the pace is quick and the number of different projects/initiatives is aggressive. This is a great role for someone that's a hustler who really wants to learn, grow, advance their career, and have an impact with great people around them. This is not the place for someone that wants to punch in and punch out. Ho-hum mediocrity will not be tolerated here and those that want to work at a leisurely pace may not be a fit.

      Pros

      Friendly staff and a real effort to nurture a positive workplace culture. Entry level employees encouraged to take on lots of responsibility.

      Cons

      Employee and client turnover. Highly political culture and defensive teams with no clear lines of accountability. Leadership is promotional and good talkers but effective management is not to be found. Operations barely limp along with no qualified oversight. Far too much responsibility forced on low level employees. Firm is unable to properly fulfill compliance obligations. Client reporting is shoddy. No ownership of client investment results by consultants, surface level investment due diligence and research. Nepotism and personal connections drive the results. New growth initiatives not well thought out.

      Great company, Lots of Opportunity

      Pros

      Prime Quadrant is a great place to work with a dynamic, fun team (including management). There is plenty of opportunity to take your career in whichever direction you want, and try new things. The CEO is energetic, forward thinking, well respected and very present in the office; he is understanding, thoughtful, and great mentor. The company has exceptional values and is very charitable (volunteer days, fundraising initiatives, and our annual large conference where 100% of proceeds go to Canadian healthcare initiatives - in addition to attracting top notch speakers). Employees are encouraged to be involved in growth and decision making, and there is ample opportunity to get your ideas heard either publicly in weekly office-wide meetings, privately with a member of management, or anonymously through a couple different channels. There is a lot of transparency withing the company both ways. In addition to a health spending account, there is a monthly wellness benefit towards your gym membership which is a big perk to many in the office.

      Cons

      While dissent is always the louder voice, I feel I would be remiss to not acknowledge the few poor reviews which are from disgruntled former employees and not an accurate depiction of PQ. Most recently, the July 9th post (from an employee who did not complete the probationary period) is far from my experience - and I believe that of the vast majority of my colleagues. Prime Quadrant is a terrific place to work - with impeccable integrity - and our clients repeatedly tell us how much they value the work we do with them and the relationships they have built with their team.
