I worked at QVC UK full-time

    Pros

A good place to start for graduates. You can get experience in other departments if you're friendly with the right people. Based in a nice part of London. Friendly staff for the most part.

    Cons

My personal experience at QVC started off great and I got a lot of fantastic experience but it turned sour very quickly. I experienced bullying from senior members of my team which management were made completely aware of. The bullying persisted for months and management let it continue because it was easier for them to dismiss it as a bit of fun, rather than deal with the bad apples themselves. Career... opportunities are very poor and very unhealthy shift patterns. Shifts last 12 hours and you're expected to work extremely unsocial hours which will have an impact on your personal life. Very difficult to book consecutive days off due to the nature of the job being shift based.

I worked at QVC UK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Staff Discount Some nice people (generally non-management) Nice modern offices Visible CEO

    Cons

Hypocricy from Senior Management Discrimination Victimisation and Non-Adherence to Equality Act Face Fits Culture Far too target orientated Drag hard working, moral people through the coals no matter what their situation outside of work. No consideration for mental health problems no matter how severe someones personal circumstances are. Underhand methods and shocking occupational health processes. Been told... that I have a solid case against them for constructive dismissal however he who laughs last laughs loudest and I am now enjoying a great career at an ethical company who support people, pay a lot more and who don't promote senior managers based on how whacky they are! Stay away from QVC.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at QVC UK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Good team - They encourage the learning of new skills

    Cons

    - Management don't treat shift workers well - The money doesn't reflect the hours worked - Work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Realise that the shift workers are humans and not numbers on a page. It may be good and well working out a new protocol on paper, but people have to actually work the shifts you've proposed.

I have been working at QVC UK full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good progression opportunities, sample sales, nice location, senior staff approachable and supportive, no blame culture, team oriented.

    Cons

No flexitime, no bonus, no team away trips or company organised socials, basic benefits package. If you want to be a buyer, you can't opt for part time, no job share available to working families.

    Advice to Management

Review the benefits package, rotate teams to encourage learning across a wider product mix. Bring employee benefits up to date with better incentives and rewards/socials.
