The software we used looked like it was from the eighties - I would never allow them to put my own card details into that, it wasn't secure at all, and in general it made all areas of work so hard to do because of how terrible the system is. We were also hamstrung by the GM being really disconnected and disinterested in understanding what the day-to-day running of the hotel was like. It made trying to put in systems to ensure quality really hard. Management also didn't want us to have any chairs anywhere behind the desk, even during covid lockdowns where you would literally be standing in one spot all day. It was painful.

Didn't get much room to grow

Difficult working hours e.g. 6am-12pm or 5pm-11pm, sometimes inconsistent work hours for a casual.

Shakey structure because of high turn over

not a global chain hotel, might affect when stepping up

Not to much flexibility when working peak periods

Big team and sometimes many want to be leaders.

Management is bad, overload and unhealthy working conditions
