      Work that differs heavily in quality

      Pros

      It is often quite a sociable job and some of the events you can work at are quite prestigious, such as Manchester City football matches and festivals such as Parklife. My favourite thing about this job is the fact that its introduced me to people from all walks of life.

      Cons

      The work can sometimes be EXTREMELY boring. For example, if you get put on a road closure without a book to read or mobile phone data, you might be in for a very, very tedious six hours of staring into space. There have also been times when I've felt a bit abandoned, sat in a car park doing nothing. Staff are also extremely exposed to the weather. Also, if you don't have superhuman stamina and so much as dare sit down for a rest when there's nothing going on, a supervisor will probably tell you off. Access to food and water at some of the events can be tricky, so bring plenty of your own if you're not sure what's going to be on offer.
