      Be careful of the politics and games!

      Pros

      For the most part, people are very friendly and welcoming. Salaries are good as are the benefits. The company is stable and there are exciting projects on the horizon.

      Cons

      Do not trust anyone in the Human Resources Department! They frequently engage in inappropriate behavior that is against the law (discrimination, ageism, racist attitudes)

      the road downhill for SamTrans/Caltrain/TA (ripping off taxpayers)

      Pros

      The Calpers retirement is still a great option even with new employees having to work longer than the employees that started earlier.

      Cons

      Poor management....from a CEO that got a lot of $$$$$ to start and will be there just 5 years ( to collect $250K for the rest of his life) to executive management team who have never taken public transportation. In house fight with seniors executive fighting to make the highest salary before a real CEO and HR department figures out how this agency is being run.

      Union, Ok wages, pension, and benefits

      Cons

      Everything is based on seniority it's hard to get days off, and you might never see your weekends again. Be prepared to devote your life it will constantly change every 5 months. You have to be a flexible person to work here. Not a good job if you have young kids . It's a racially biased company. Dont expect to get promoted unless you are a part of a certain group or know someone in management. They tend to promote family members and friends and ignore qualified candidates.
