I have been working at Selfridges (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's really enjoyable to work at Selfridges Oxford st. The environment is nice, their is opportunities to grow up and the salary is good. The hours are also good, not really exhausting and allow you to socialize after work. well, I guess that also depend the floor and brand you working with. It's better to be own bought than concession at some point. The discount are also ok, up to 35%.

    Cons

Well, there is none for the moment. Maybe the department manager could be more easy to contact when you need help with a customer but overall I can't find any con.

    Advice to Management

Some manager feel superior and a bit arrogant with the staff, you should work on that point. Except that keep working as you do !

I have been working at Selfridges full-time

    Pros

History of innovation, iconic branding, generally well-regarded for service standards.

    Cons

Lack of progression, severe lack of consistency regarding communication, decision-making and promises.

    Advice to Management

Build greater rapport with staff. Explore and develop staff potential. Be more open minded/consider a can-do attitude rather than can-not.

I have been working at Selfridges full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You'll make great friends and get a really good discount

    Cons

There's so much pressure from higher management and so much emphasis on profit and figures instead of people that no-one gets anything done. Staff moral generally really low. Salaries are really low too.

    Advice to Management

Change the focus to people over sales and targets and your staff will be happier and therefore more successful with customers.
