I have been working at Serco Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We were largely left alone to get on with providing, very successfully, what our customer wanted. Without senior management interfering too much. Although, that was more just by neglect than by design.

    Cons

A very un-IT focused company. They originally had a great team of engineers that bought out to found the company, many years ago. But, the last of the breed left or died several year ago.
Now it is pure FM company, and does not recognise the technical talent it had under its nose. I say in past tense, because the Account Manager we had was more intereted in what the cleaning staff wanted than anyone in IT. So, I'd imagine that rest of the talent has also gone too, over the last 5 years.

    Advice to Management

You lost it a long time ago. Building up the data expertise to support future growth will now take you a long time.

    Pros

I love my job. I love the area where I work, the people I work with and who I work for.

    Cons

I hate the traveling. By bus, it takes three hours a day to travel there and back.

    Advice to Management

I wish there were more activities to provide the students with a more authentic look at library life.
