    Pros

Days go fast due to taking calls all day, great people to work with. I started with 5 other people and we're still together since training week

    Cons

Some calls are very stressful when people are shouting at you when all you are trying to do is help them some don't apologise and give you a chance to speak.

    Advice to Management

    Keep being the best managers

    Pros

Good colleagues - probably about it.

    Cons

    - Appalling building (Intercity House in Plymouth) that was dirty and smelt.
    - Extremely low pay even for a call centre.

    Advice to Management

Pay staff more - you'll get better results and less turnover, simple.

I worked at Serco Group full-time

    Pros

Experience that can be gained, interesting work.

    Cons

The pay is well below market average for roles that are very accountable. The work load is heavy and if the client makes cuts, Serco lose headcount. The HR, payroll and support processes are so bad they are offensive. IT systems in these areas are woeful, demoralisingly difficult to use with minimal human support. Poor to minimal benefits package.

    Advice to Management

Pay market value at least, shared services are appalling, look at other companies, it is important to staff and managers that this interface works. Employees feel isolated and unsupported and end up saying nothing and looking to leave. Benefits, again, not in line with the market and are poor at best, staff understandably feel under valued.
All the above equals low retention rates of staff and low moral.

I have been working at Serco Group full-time

    Pros

    World wide service company
    Above average pay
    Good pension scheme
    Colleagues are wonderful

    Cons

    Bad decisions made
    Lots of false promises
Hours cut with a few days notice
    Lack of urgency
    Inability to identify talent
Lack of support from line managers
    Everything is about cost cutting
Values are preached but senior management do not live them
Overall a frustrating place to work

    Advice to Management

Nurture your talent. Take a second to put yourself in your employees shoes and see how your decisions impact them, both professionally and personally.

    Pros

Good opportunities if you're well-networked in the business

    Cons

Very much a boys club culture within the Group centre

    Advice to Management

Look at all the talent you have - not just "the usual suspects" for project / opportunities
