Pros

Small glimpse of hope during your first week.

Cons

My experience was far from satisfactory. I hope to shed light on the evident lack of concern for employees and the apparent sinking ship that is Sleep Doctor. From my observations, it is clear that the company's leadership does not prioritize the well-being and growth of its workforce. The company's management style is riddled with inefficiency and poor decision-making. The CEO seems disconnected from the realities on the ground and fails to provide clear direction or meaningful guidance. The leadership lacks a strategic vision for the company, which ultimately contributes to its current state of decline. Important decisions are made haphazardly, without considering the long-term consequences or the impact on employees' morale. In terms of career growth and development opportunities, Sleep Doctor falls flat. There is a distinct absence of professional training programs or initiatives to help employees enhance their skills and reach their full potential. Promotions and career advancements are rare, if not entirely non-existent. This lack of investment in employees' growth further reinforces the impression that the company views its workforce as disposable. To make matters worse, Sleep Doctor’s financial stability is questionable at best. The company's struggles and uncertain future make it difficult to feel secure in one's position. Budget cuts and layoffs are frequent, and the overall atmosphere is one of unease and uncertainty. It is deeply unsettling to work in an environment where job security is a constant concern. In conclusion, my time at Sleep Doctor was profoundly disappointing. The lack of care for employees, coupled with a sinking ship mentality and an ineffective manager, made it an incredibly challenging workplace. I would caution anyone considering employment with this company to seriously evaluate their options and consider alternative opportunities that value their well-being and offer a more stable work environment.

Mismanaged SEO marketing scheme: stay away

Pros

Chill job while it lasts, good pay and benefits. Lavish parties they cannot afford, great until one day you lose your job out of nowhere in the middle of a work day.

Cons

The entire brand is now based around a multimillionaire professional Oprah guest who namedrops celebrities and leverages his “PhD in sleep” (note this is not an MD) to shill sleep products of varying levels of quality or effectiveness. Very clear making money is this guy’s MO above any sort of medical ethics but he’s quite charismatic. He’ll personally tell you his thoughts on why melatonin shouldn't be mass-marketed as a sleep product then OK having his face slapped on melatonin gummies by the parent company. By the way, these guys took the liberty of renaming the company right after unceremoniously laying off 40% of the company in the middle of a Thursday morning so look up “Onecare Media” if you want to see more about how this place operates. They spend money recklessly, flying in various remote employees cross country on a weekly basis and shoveling money into “culture events” such as box suite mariners games and open bar happy hour events. All pretty fun stuff until you don’t have a job anymore and they try to tell you it was a “difficult financial decision”, really beyond insulting… They keep you in the dark about macro level financial decisions that WILL affect your livelihood and then lay everyone off when it doesn't add up. And given that the company’s entire business model lives and dies off the fickle inner workings of search algorithms I doubt anyone’s job is safe long term at this company but I do hope they lay off the asinine fluff spending for the sake of the good people still working there.

Many of our team members were excited about the rebranding to Sleep Doctor, which is inline with our strategic direction to build the leading DTC brand in sleep. Regrettably, last summer we had to reduce the size of our staff. Similar to many other companies at the time, our company faced challenges with economic conditions and external factors beyond our control. It wasn’t something we took lightly, and provided all of our team members with severance packages.

Shady company, dishonest management

Pros

Easy to make a quick buck or two. High pay, solid benefits during your tenure.

Cons

Formerly known as OneCare Media, this fraud company has engaged in deceptive practices to sway consumers to purchase medical sleep devices through them with little to zero understanding of how these products actually function. Look into the reviews of OneCare Media (Glassdoor, Google, etc.) and understand that their deception doesn’t end at the consumer. They laid off 50% of their workforce earlier this year and offered no support in terms of job searching or referrals or even exit interviews. Stay far, far away.

We consider it a significant honor and privilege to offer top-notch service to our customers, and we take this responsibility seriously. Unfortunately, we needed to implement a reduction in force in 2023. However, our primary focus is now on moving forward and achieving growth. We express gratitude for the accomplishments of both past and current members of our team.
