Pros

The focus is on quality and doing the right thing for the kids and family. If you communicate what you need you’ll get what you need to be successful. There are always plenty of families wanting services.

Cons

Kids can be tough but they’re awesome.

Pros

Most of the non-management staff were very kind and pleasant to work with. Office staff were understanding and very nice people. The children I worked with were awesome kids.

Cons

I raised concerns with multiple factors at this company--BCBAs were regularly writing goals to force children to make eye contact, and to stop harmless stimming. New RBTs did NOT receive adequate training. The training was nothing over the minimum 40 hours required by the BACB, and I observed new RBTs pick up bad habits from the more seasoned RBTs. BCBAs and RBTs had a strong focus on the children's compliance over their learning. When children voiced any dissent to the therapists, they were told "Say 'Okay.'" Snacks were withheld from children to use as "reinforcers," so kids had to "work for" their basic necessities. If a child did anything other than the "desired response," they were coerced into doing basic compliance drills like a dog until they performed the behavior that the RBT or BCBA wanted, and they got their "Scooby snack" for complying. Nap-time in the preschool side was a huge concern for me. Children who could not lay down during nap were forced to "cry it out" and were physically restrained by teachers and RBTs by putting limbs over them in their sleeping bag so they couldn't get up. These people were all trying their best under the circumstances, but these standards MUST be set and maintained by management.
