I wish I could have stayed at my last job. 1 star.
Pros
They start you off with $20/hr. Medical insurance is 100% paid through the company for the most part. People who are easy to please will enjoy the random games & prizes they do sometimes. The people who work here are super friendly.
Cons
All of the reviews look good because they have you do a review at the end of training BEFORE you go out on the floor and realize what it is really like working here. They allow the customers to abuse the employees and managers. Employees are not allowed to disconnect the call on disgusting customers. We have to sit here and deal with it or give it to a manager. I don't think it is right that the managers should have to specifically deal with these people either. We have been told we will get walked out the door for disconnecting on calls. There are no real opportunities to move up unless you have collections experience. I applied for 3 different positions while I have been here, and I was told I interviewed well, but I got passed up by someone who has been in collections for years. I have been doing well for this being my first collections experience, but it isn't enough. Their wrap up time for documenting is overwhelming because you have to document almost every call. If they say their name and hang up, you still have to document and that automatically cuts into your wrap up time. The calls are back to back all day just like when I worked in insurance. And to me, this place is worst. You can't disconnect on disrespectful calls so they don't truly care about their employees. They just want money for the company. The training is subpar. I remember something that the trainer specifically told us in training had my coworkers failing calls when I got on the floor. They have all the rules of a major company, but they aren't there. I guess I worked at a bigger company before, so I know what it could/should be. There is no script as you go through calls, so if you are completely new to collections, this can cause a struggle. I still don't know certain amounts for disability and social security. They only give you a 1.5%-3.5% bonus if you make goal. I heard other companies are higher. You have to make goal every month and it gets higher every month. So even if you do make more money the next month, your bonus will probably be the same because your goal goes up every month. If you even get your bonus because they have so many rules for you to fail on. I haven't failed a call yet, but it is a lot to remember trying to make sure I don't fail so I get my "bonus" that I deserve regardless since it is a requirement we get abused. Any company that claims to be a family, RUN! And this company will bring people in left and right all through training to tell you that!! We didn't get Juneteenth off, but we did get off for Independence Day. **Side eye** Definitely not the place for introverts! People are always randomly talking to you, and it is bad for your "brand" if you don't socialize. Being a quiet person who comes to work on time and make their goals is not good enough. I was barely here a month and was already starting to apply for new opportunities. The schedule isn't consistent which makes for bad work-life balance. The dress code is based on your body type or favoritism. I just keep the same plain clothes in rotation because of the comments I have heard said to some of my coworkers. I watch other coworkers wear the same, but nobody is sending them home or to HR over it. You only get 40 hours of PTO when you first start and there is no way to earn more other than waiting whatever time period they give you. I usually make my appointments outside of work, so I never really use my PTO but to call out when I or my daughter is sick and I get points/written up for it every time, even if I do have PTO. So their attendance policy is trash. I had suffered a loss, was crying/bawling my eyes out one morning, and I still went to work to try NOT to get a point. My manager sent me home because I looked and sounded a mess. Guess what was waiting for me when I came back the next day? Points!!! Last thing you need to know to know that they don't care about you, you can't do anything to try to make yourself feel better. I tried writing things I was grateful for at my desk, pens & paper aren't allowed apparently even though it isn't in the policy. So you can't even have a coloring book. The only reason they didn't get a 1 star is because of the pay and it still isn't enough to come to work and be tortured. *Revised. $20/hr isn't enough. I'd walk out if I didn't need a check. 1 STAR!*
