Being a Stack Fool is different

Pros

The folks at Stackfolio really care about you and your life. They want to know how you're doing in totality, not just at work. Stack Fools will drop everything to help you figure out an issue outside of work when it really counts. I know I can rely on the people in my office. The work is unique. The world of finance is a nuanced one, and there is a lot to learn. I think the team really benefits from a diversity of folks that come from deep backgrounds in finance, to folks that have never even done their own taxes.

Cons

Sometimes the work is intense and in a massive sprint in order to get something ready for a client, but honestly, it's a startup. I didn't expect anything else. I actually enjoy having to think on my feet to get something up and running quickly.

Pros

- Opportunity to be part of an industry-changing company still in its early stage. - Fun and growing team with intentional time built into the work week to connect with everyone on a personal level. - Respect for your opinion and expectations to have an opinion. - Expectations to contribute to the actual product and company is high from day 1. - The culture being developed pushes everyone to expect the product and process. - Mentor network is deep and prestige within the startup ecosystem is pretty amazing.

Cons

- While fair, the workload for every teammate is more than at any other environment I was previously employed at. - Expected as a startup, but it lacks certain larger company-type benefits.

I'm a Stack Fool

Pros

Tech Square Labs is an awesome parent organization. You learn a lot, mostly out of necessity as it is a fast moving company. All of your work is directly on the product, and it's been neat to see more and more people interacting with the platform.

Cons

At times, the work can feel like a grind, and before a huge pitch, 24 hour coding sessions (fondly named Stack-athons) may exist.
