Pros

Some employees are really passionate about the work the client companies are doing, so it doesn't take long for someone with a morals to leave this company. The company claims to truly care about matching the right people to jobs, but in my opinion they just care about the quick payout.

Cons

Management and longtime employees will actually bully and cross personal boundaries. Meetings comprise of listening to management talk about how smart and cool they are, making fun of people, or singling people out and nothing productive ever gets accomplished. There is a juvenile feel to this company and it sometimes feels like you are working in a frat house.

Our team is now truly at an all-time high. We’ve had a couple of people leave lately, which with all due respect has left us with a higher quality, more committed and unified team. As a group, we’ve reviewed your feedback and collectively disagree on some of your views. None of us appreciate the false things you've written in an attempt to disparage us to clients. We’ve never felt more passionate about the importance of the medicines our customers develop. All of us. Whether it’s a next generation CF therapy for our own Kate Marshall, a diabetes trial in which our teammate participates, or any number of new approaches to cure cancer, we truly get into it. Because of that, we make ethical choices as we represent candidates, which sometimes means we don’t make a quick buck or a dollar at all. In those instances, we’ve set the stage for long-term success by engendering real trust with clients and candidates. Our morals and ethics are one of the many keys to our success in the same tight-knit community for over 15 years. About the environment here, we’d like to say that while it’s not always rainbows and butterflies, we truly like one another quite a lot. When we are not working hard, we often get together outside of work and genuinely care about everyone’s well-being, whether it’s a colleague, candidate or client. That's why internal employees enjoy a generous time off plan and tons of flexibility for the family including work from home, allowing un-accrued days off, bereavement, and generous maternity leave. And it's also why clients and candidates stay with us year after year. If that’s not enough evidence that we are on the right side of good and evil, consider the lengthy list of recommendations on social media. Unfortunately, Glassdoor has become a place for disgruntled employees to grind an ax, sometimes with the same person writing multiple reviews. We are in no way dismissive of your comments, nor are we terribly concerned about what you have written. The fact is that the things you say don’t fit us. Our feeling is that it's a shame you feel the way you do. Whoever you are, at our company exists great potential to develop strong relationships and make a difference. We wish you’d harnessed this potential and had a better experience.

Pros

If you have no soul you can make big money

Cons

I am not going to put anything specific in here that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers except to say that the positive reviews are too perfect not to have been written by the employers themselves. Note that they are recruiters and are hyper aware of the power of sites like glassdoor for them (or Yelp if you were a restaurant). Do yourself a favor before working here as an employee or working with them as a client. Do 4 random backdoor references on them. Contact 4 internal recruiters at local biotech or pharma companies in the area at random. Contact as many as you can until you get 4 of them (former employees would be good to call too - look them up on linkedin) to call you back. Tell them you are considering working for these guys or considering working with them (as a client) and see what they say. You don't need to take my word for anything bad. I promise you that you'll be running for the hills after doing these backdoor checks. If you are a good recruiter (or are embarking on a career like this) it's what you should be doing. As one of the previous reviewers said, it's the power of reputation and network. The Strat partners haven't learned this lesson. Start backdoor checking them and you'll find out quick about them and run the other way. To be fair I'm giving them a fair rating on stars below. Unfortunately there is nothing lower than 1 for Senior Management and Culture and Values.

I wish working here had been a more positive experience for you, and that you had brought your concerns to us directly. We don’t put anything false on here. The vast majority here are proud of our culture and values, and actively recruit people into their teams. We are celebrating the ten year anniversary for one employee in October, and another in June. Excluding Principals and those here under twelve months, we have an average tenure of over five years. With this retention rate, we are not surprised by positive reviews. On random checking our culture and values: We agree 100%. We create and maintain healthy relationships that will speak for us. And over 15 years, we’ve made a huge impact with the help of great friends whether they are Current and Former Employees, Clients or Candidates. Considering our growth comes mainly by referral, we encourage everyone to seek inside and outside opinions. We've always said we are not perfect, so if someone looks hard enough, they will find some who disagree. Our ethics are among the highest in the industry. I found a quote summing up why I believe most love it here: "While business is a game of numbers, real achievement is measured in infinite emotional wealths: friendship, usefulness, helping, learning, or said another way, the one who dies with the most joys wins." -Dale Dauten. When we say we are doing well, this is what we are talking about. We got into Biotech to make a difference and we do so every day as we serve our clients and candidates. As with everyone who works here, we want it to be a very positive experience and wish it had been a better fit for you.

Pros

Some employees are great, and you can make lifelong friends with kind, honest, and hardworking individuals. Good networking events and opportunities. A great way to learn the biotech industry.

Cons

The environment is in which everyone works is extremely stressful, the office is also set up like a fishbowl; there is little to no privacy and it is extremely loud. Lots of swearing and complaining from upper management and offensive/racist/sexist comments. On many occurrences myself and others witnessed employees being let go, which made for a very uncomfortable environment. The turn over rate is unbelievably high, for such a small company. Nearly half of the company as left in the past 8 months. Most of the management is not aligned what so ever with their policy and procedures, and a handful of managers speak negatively about people on their team out in the open (completely inappropriate). Employees are absolutely not treated fairly. Very strong recruiting pitch to get you in the door, that comes true for very few…

Thank you for presenting your point of view more professionally than others. We all respect that! On your first point, yes we have an outstanding team - all of them. You will not find a group of kinder, honest and hard-working people anywhere. You also will not find a better-balanced group which celebrates wins, gives back to the community and genuinely cares about their work. We are lucky to have awesome people, and one of our greatest satisfactions is seeing them develop deep friendships. We also appreciate your recognition of our investment in our team, but these investments go well beyond paying for networking events. To address your cons: When you say the environment is stressful, are you comparing us to other recruiting companies or saying the job of recruiting is stressful? Either way, we'll give you our perspective: Recruiting can be stressful at times, so we do our best to minimize interoffice sources of stress. We have an open environment with no offices, not even for the person writing this response! When it gets humming in here, you have to concentrate. The majority of our team enjoys this energy, and the collaboration stimulated when together in the same room. We don't have a tight collar, corporate environment. As you stated, relationships here blossom into lifelong friendships. With friendship comes a high degree of comfort, so when you say you heard swearing, offensive, racist and sexist comments, we think this deserves context. There is a big difference between making a joke, and directing a lewd or racist comment toward your peer. We don’t believe you are saying you were personally the target of any such remarks. Assuming what you heard was meant in humor, please take it easy on us! Your review suggests we are unprofessional, which is an exaggeration unless you are very easily offended. The team appreciates an environment in which you can be yourself. However, we will try to be cognizant not everyone shares the same brand of humor. On our turnover, we've recently had more departures than we are accustomed to, but we are strong in numbers and even stronger in spirit and enthusiasm. Toward the end of 2014 into 2015, we hired fast, and in retrospect, we made some mistakes. It's tough to lose anyone, particularly when they are a friend, but our team has never been richer with committed people who possess the right attitudes, work ethic and intention to do good things. We would not trade what we have now for a larger company with the wrong people. We are sorry it made you uncomfortable to see someone fired. It seldom happens but we are an open office, so we ask you to forgive us this trespass. Please consider that it is most uncomfortable for the person leaving and for their manager, not for you. We reject the notion that we put on a good sales job to get people in the door. We go out of our way to present an accurate picture of working here. We tell them to check us out on Glassdoor knowing they will read reviews like yours. Our interview process is lengthy, and historically we select only about 10%. We also dismiss the idea that few succeed as we are on track to exceed our goals. Most do very well, and when you started we had every hope you would too. We'd love it if it were solely up to us, but personal effort often dictates an employee's fate. Everyone gets the same shot, so the idea that it's unfair just does not resonate.
