Pros

There are no pros to this job.

Cons

Where to begin? Firstly, the atmosphere at Sullivan's is that of a never ending elevator ride at an out dated craft store. There is no flow between coworkers, as a matter of fact I was once told to "be more of a team player" and immediately thereafter told "not to ask anyone for opinions or advice". I'm not sure how to work in a team yet avoid conversation with my co workers at all costs. The boss likes to throw about 20 assignments at you a day, not indicating any deadlines or priority, and then ask you every 5 minutes if you're done yet. Not only do they have no idea what a graphic designer does, they most certainly have no regard for the creative process, or any perception of how long that may take. They pay is low, there are no benefits. There is no room for growth and ZERO opportunity for creative input. Their ad style is horrific, and the approach to ads is "the more the better, you have to visually overwhelm the buyer to attract him". Enough to make a designer pass out. Any suggestions for an updated look were turned away as "horrible", "garbage"and "Stupid". The boss also likes to mock you and repeat himself loud and slow as if he had a disorder of some sort when you ask him any questions. The motto is "figure it out" and "get it done" despite the fact that they don't spend any time on training or assimilating new employees. This place made me miserable, and every Sunday night the thought of going to work literally gave me panic attacks.

Pros

Great industry being they sell fun for a living and we sell safety gear.

Cons

No Team Work everyone is only interested in themselves and not the the best interests of the company. Managers are just pawns and have no authority to do anything to better the companies business or manage their employee's
