- Steep learning curve as scope of projects are so big. Noticeable difference between project managers 'managing style' adds to this learning curve. Will take a while to get enough confidence to have your own projects, as such first year bonuses may be low which can be discouraging. In the grand scheme the payout is good though.
- Summers are very busy, however this is standard for construction consulting. Employees are salaried; OT and hard work is rewarded through (generous) bonuses.
- If you don't carefully monitor your workload projections and/or speak up, you will be overloaded with work. Management is much better than past years at trying different approaches to ensure new hires are not overwhelmed/ do not burn out.
