Pros

-opportunity to work with some cool clients (if you’re lucky and favoured). -collaboration is great, help from colleagues is always there if you need. -good office location. -don't have to wear a suit -friday vibes are good, boozy

Cons

-literally zero benefits. Standard holiday, minimum pension, no health care, no flexibility, really diabolical salaries. You get a Mac but this is because you have to have this in order to work at your client site (nobody in any situation is allowed to work from home). -brown nosing. Cliquey. -people only get promotions and pay rises when their client wants to buy them out (which happens quite regularly). -no different to a stereotypical recruitment agency which is proven with incentives for top billers (whoever makes the most placements), early Friday finishes based on hitting target, prizes for top billers. They say they aren’t an agency yet they boast about being nominated for the best large agency? Doesn’t make any sense -NPS is a scam, purely a marketing campaign. They don’t care about added value, it’s all about making as many placements as possible. -no trust, no autonomy, no listening to employees which you can see is starting to have an impact… loads of people leaving. -you could possibly get stuck with a really bad client which I have seen talent partners have to endure... ultimately has led to some people quitting -toxic environment. founders are very egotistical. -HR aren't great, don't handle situations very well at all

Thanks for taking the time to offer your thoughts. We’re on the same page about the importance of many of the topics you discuss. Top of that list is that you are right that listening and valuing employees are such an important part of any successful company. We’ve been really excited to integrate Peakon as a company wide tool to gather anonymous feedback about all of these issues - feelings about the work people do, our benefits, our environment, our leaders, our teams and colleagues and feeling supported and valued. This enables us to have some real time feedback on how we are doing as an employer and react quickly to the concerns of our employees. Happily our recent Peakon score (9/10 and in the top 10% of employers for employee engagement) is showing that we’re getting a lot of things right at the moment but we look continuously at how to improve or implement new ways of supporting our employees. We have a benefits suite for all employees that helps support work and life with healthcare support, fitness and learning & development provisions. We also have a robust progression framework that favours merit based promotions - not favouritism - so progression is happily open to all.

Pros

There are/were some good people within the business and you have the ability to learn lots from others and gain experience.

Cons

The business model of Talentful on paper is a good idea however is let down by the lack of leadership and the clique. If you are someone who shouts the loudest about how good you are and what you have done to the entire business then you should be fine. This was evident in monthly meetings from the business and was apparent when the same faces were championed each month. Talentful went through redundancies recently due to Covid but was handled pretty poorly. People have since been asked to come back after an emotional rollercoaster. Contracts were resigned earlier in the year with pay reductions after a company meeting but they also reduced the notice period which was not mentioned in the meeting and felt shady and blatant that redundancies were inevitable. By sending out the contract it felt like everyone was over a barrel of either sign the contract or lose your job if you don't agree to sign. Ironic as one of the company values is candour. It is a company that still feels like a recruitment agency which may suit some people.
