Pros

This company is not a good fit for therapists

Cons

Unrealistic expectations for providers to meet weekly therapy quotas that are way too high, causing burnout & raise ethical/legal concerns. Horrible leadership that is unwilling to listen to provider feedback and concerns. False promises made to providers. No real support to providers other than pushing "happy hours" or "virtual trivia" as a solution to burnout.

Pros

Catered lunch 4X per week.

Cons

Co-founder is nothing more than a grown-up mean girl. There are cliques, blatant body shaming and GOSSIP, GOSSIP, GOSSIP. Don't expect to get ahead unless you're one of the "cool kids" and certainly don't expect hard work to pay off or even be noticed. The fact that this is a mental health company is laughable. I left the office most days for two full years overwhelmed with anxiety and feeling completely down about myself and the trajectory of my career. Stay far away.

Hi there, thank you for opening up about your experience working at Talkspace, and for taking the time to leave your review. We are very disappointed to hear that your experience at Talkspace left you feeling anxious and negative — about yourself and your work. What you describe is certainly the opposite of our mission and the culture we strive to create, but we understand and value your feedback, and are taking it into careful consideration. We want to emphasize the value we place on transparency, and that we always encourage feedback from employees, our therapists, and users alike. We hope you felt safe speaking up about these challenges while working here, and greatly apologize if you didn’t. If you’re open to continuing this conversation offline, we invite you to reach out to us at talktous@talkspace.com

Pros

flexible schedule, work from home, decent number of referrals, really meaningful work and reaching clients that might not otherwise seek therapy

Cons

Pay is embarrassingly low. While they are increasing pricing in the future and compensation will also increase, there are no increases for therapists who have had long-term clients. Leadership does not answer questions but will direct you to search through disorganized materials to find the answer yourself. Therapists are expected to keep current on company policies which are ever changing.

We’re sorry to hear you were frustrated by the pay as a Talkspace therapist. Keep in mind that our pay-scale depends on how many clients you work with, and the plans to which they are subscribed, which does fluctuate, and we recognize that can be frustrating. Most of our therapists work with Talkspace to earn supplemental income on their own time. Also, our resources are available to all Talkspace therapists used as a tool for training and to support clinical practice and success on the platform. Thank you for taking the time to review Talkspace. Your voice helps us make the changes we need to make to maintain our vibrant and engaged community of therapists.
