Pros

Lots of technical experience in your peers. Variety of assignments that will give you a great deal of experience. Options for going into more technical depth vs. more system level technical knowledge. Lots of teams/roles you can move into.

Cons

Each team has its own culture, and they can vary a lot from each other. This includes their own work/life balance expectations (Good or bad thing) Upward movement is limited to your ability to play the political game quite well. This includes technical and management upward movement. Depending on the team and whether you're in a "focus area", your resources can be quite limited which can include pay and visibility by upper management (making it harder to progress if you're stuck on those teams) Reorganizations every 2ish years per team

Toxic Culture

Pros

PTO, base bay is great and bonuses used to be large until they significantly cut it for this year, gym onsite

Cons

Nearly everything - low morale, toxic work environment, poor upper management, tension, lack of collaboration, outdated management style, micromanagement, inflexible working structure, 60+ hour weeks, removed almost every single perk we had before the acquisition, understaffed and expected to put in double the work after the layoffs, everyday is just a fire fighting panic episode from management that you can't actually get any work done, and much more --> it has given me anxiety and extreme depression

Pros

There is an incredibly talented and skilled group of people that push you to learn quick in a broad set of skills

Cons

Upper management almost explicitly does not care about its employees. Work life balance is bad, always online. Central teams seem to actively want to sabotage the core business engineers.

Management are idiots

Pros

Salaries are pretty good and lots of good folks working here

Cons

Company is run by complete idiots with no technical expertise. This is a tech company, but upper management constantly is chasing hype instead of real revenue opportunities. Not to mention upper management doesn't give a darn about technical talent and has laid off most of its technical expertise

Pros

Interesting work, decent pay, most people are chill

Cons

I swear upper management is making the worst possible decisions at every turn. They layoff large amounts of people with decades of experience and then turn around and say they will convert a building to exclusively produce products that require said experience.

Pros

only pro is that it is TI.

Cons

Toxic work environment –Toxic upper management leaders practices sometimes create unnecessary competition and tension among colleagues instead of fostering collaboration. Outdated management style – Leadership tends to micromanage heavily, with a work culture stuck in the 90s. Remote work(which is rare) comes with hourly reporting requirements, which signals a lack of trust. Poor employee benefits – The site is small with no real perks, you get only break area with two tables apart from your desk, where your manager and will be track you how long you are glued on your seat!

Pros

- great place to start your career - plenty are willing to get you ramped up as fast as possible - plenty of work - good pto

Cons

- besides working with offshore teams and adjusting to their schedule during the week, you will be asked to work weekends and holidays at some point. - upper management does not care about how you get it done, just get it done. - you will get stuck doing the same thing over and over again, with little career growth - no remote work possible
