Pros

There are some good people who've worked at Computer Hut, but they never stick around because they all eventually get fired or quit.

Cons

There's so much to say about Computer Hut that I don't know where to begin, although a lot of it had been touched on in previous reviews. I'll try not to tread any tired ground here. First and foremost, the company is owned and run by a man whom I can only describe as a bully. Although he tries to come off as friendly and charismatic, in reality he rules though a culture of fear and intimidation. You'll hear a lot of talk about "accountability" at TCH, and there's certainly nothing wrong with accountability in IT. However, at TCH, "accountability" actually means "fear of getting fired or disciplined." TCH fires people the way other companies might issue verbal warnings, or even just instructional training. And having seen numerous people receive punitive action in my time there, I can say that almost all of the crimes were nowhere near deserving of their punishments, which were often times downright nonsensical. I saw an employee get written up for failing to fulfill his job description; however, that job description was written in a meeting 15 minutes before said discipline. I saw someone fired for a legitimate mistake that anyone could have made, but someone had to go under the bus. As for myself, I was once written up for things that never even happened. When challenged on this, management told me that it was the "perception" that those things had happened, regardless of the facts. Let that sink in for a bit. Facts are irrelevant at TCH. 2+2=5. On top of the extremely hostile work environment, you'll be expected to work 50+ hours per week for pay that's far lower than market average in Little Rock. Feeling burned out? That's too bad, because your PTO accrues so slowly that you'll never be able to take time off, especially since PTO doubles as your sick leave too. Additionally, although there is an on-call rotation for nights and weekends, you'll still be expected to answer your company-issued cellphone should it ring at any time of the day or night. Failure to do so will result in, guess what? Disciplinary action! Sensing a pattern? There's all manner of other tomfoolery that I could get into, but hopefully you're starting to get the picture. TCH's modus operandi is to hire people, work them like slaves until they burn out, then use fear to keep them working until they finally get fired or get fed up and leave. If you don't believe me, do this: if you go in for an interview, pay attention to the expressions on the employees' faces -everyone there is unhappy to be working there. If you're lucky you might spot someone crying; that would be the person who got the most recent butt-chewing. Do you really want to work at a place like that? There are plenty of things to be fed up with on the business and technical side of the company too, but they really pale in comparison to the way this company treats its people. Please don't make the same mistake I and the other reviewers did. You'll regret it, I promise.

Pros

Same as other reviewer: started out with good intentions. Lots of promises and big plans, forward thinking, lots of encouragement, nice people. Great learning environment. There is always a chance that things have changed since my time at this place.

Cons

1) micro-management style fosters fear and mistrust - definitely not a 2 way loyalty street. 2) commission "structure" too complex to understand, or, to even explain. Changed, on average, every few months. 3) Gave raises (for incentive & reward) then, RETRACTED them after a couple of months.
