Pros

The clientele is the only positive aspect of the program, for those of us who as counselors and social workers are 'people-lovers' and 'people-helpers.' If they act out it is understandable because they are sick and the disease of the addiction shows in their behavior. What I find difficult to understand is people who are supposed to be mentally stable, healthy and productive members of our society behaving so unprofessionally and immaturely .My heart goes out to men who struggle with drug-addiction, homelessness, legal issues, health and relational issues of all sorts and are in desperate need of counseling but receive none because the counselors are overworked, burnt-out and too busy and exhausted to have a session with them. In brief, there is no counseling only 'case management', if you consider dispensing and counting medication , checking the kitchen, approving client's itineraries and entering information on the computer, passing mail and documenting everything electronically, answering the phone and taking messages from clients from other agencies owned by the TTHI, checking if the beds are made and if the men are sleeping when they are not supposed to, if the bathrooms are clean, searching client's belongings with dirty laundry when they first come to the program...if you consider these things case management then perhaps that is a good fit for you.

Cons

The place is run by the owner a snobbish, angry, sour , bitter,'dry-drunk' with a lot of unfinished business himself and an insatiable love of money. The rest of the staff in the administration follows suit. It is common for an employee to start the day reading unprofessional insulting e-mails threatening him of losing being fired for something he did or did not do because he was never instructed on. Training is inexistent, like someone said here they 'throw in the fire.' Vulgarity, foul language and the "F" word is what you hear from those who should lead by example. And yes, they are making disciples...It is a shame that places like the TTHI continue to exist...not to mention the pay that is pitiful, not to say offensive. And they say they will pay an amount hourly when they hire, but then they pay you less...The TTHI is a place used by administrators to vent their anger on defenseless clients and counselors/case managers of good faith. No wonder why no professional , no mental health counselor or social worker who understands self-care and self-compassion stays there. If you are looking for a job, please do not consider this place; they will saddle you and run you to the ground with no mercy...

Pros

If you can handle the daily abuse and threatening e-mail and the direct hallway berating. Then again it is a job and a pay check. Did I mention the Inmates are politer than the Management. The previous actions are from management who is self absorbed and has an anger problems that is only heightened by their gambling and drinking issues.

Cons

Did I mention the Inmates are politer than the Management. The previous actions are from management . Some of which who have been fired from Bridges of America for abuse. Some of the supervisors are either not familiar with corrections or are cast outs of the Fla. Corrections. system. Dinsmore is a cesspool and your reputation will be damaged. The abuse of Inmates is unconscionable and if you report it to Corporate they will find away to fire you. If you don't report it you are a criminal in the eyes of the State. No winning here. Stay away.

Pros

Hard working staff that tried to compensate for the incompetent administrators who were only glorified prison guards. The good employees were always trying to protect the residents in the work release program from the inept decisions the barney fife managers made on a daily basis. SAD!

Cons

Administrators were oblivious to major theft that was taking place at the work release center in Dinsmore. Incompetent management that caused good people to leave while the morons played prison guards. Former inmates are seeking legal advice on how to recover monies they were cheated out of while residents.
