Pros

I joined Tia a few months ago, and from the second I joined, I immediately understand why Tia is such a special place. People are warm, inviting, thoughtful and approachable. Everyone you work with is willing to help and take the time to work out a problem or issue you may have. Everyone understands that when you are successful, we all are! I have truly not worked at a company in my entire career that has been so willing to consider and adopt new ideas and be open to change. The amount i've learned since joining is 10x how much I learned in my previous job over 6 years! It's very rare that a company has so many smart and capable people working for it, and at the same time make every person feel like they and their work are important and valuable. It's also very rare to work for a company that has had such incredible growth and exposure as Tia has had (which you would expect to make it feel disjointed and C-suite leaders less approachable) but Tia is doing the opposite. Every executive leader is visible and present, and works to make sure from an entry level team member to a department leader, everyones role is equally valuable. Prior to Tia, I worked for one of the largest company's in the world, with endless resources and people. Although a very different industry and company stage then Tia is, that company made employees feel that anyone is dispensable and easily replaced. Not for a second has Tia felt like that. Each meeting you have, people make sure to tell their peers how effective or valuable their support and work was and compliments are the norm, not the exception! I couldn't recommend Tia enough to anyone who wants to learn a lot, have incredible career growth opportunities, meet amazingly smart and talented people and know your work and effort is making a difference.

Cons

I honestly dont have any cons so far. Couldnt be happier that I joined the Tia family.

Pros

Remote, flexible work environment Decent pay (for my department, though I know other departments were paid WELL below market value) Many kind coworkers with a real passion for healthcare equity

Cons

Misuse of funds - for example, just a few months before first round of layoffs, management spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to fly everyone to CA in what turned out to be a COVID superspreader event where we were locked in windowless rooms for days hearing their typical insane startup culture rhetoric. No one cares about fresh flowers in a healthcare office or terrazo check-in desks if the actual care they're getting isn't top notch. Abusive managers and no room for growth - Our team leader was cruel and chaotic and fostered a culture of backstabbing and callout-culture. Sometimes it feels like the only way to get ahead at Tia (unless you went to #Cornell and are BFF with the founders!) is to make others look bad, and people totally do it. It completely comes from the top-down. I repeatedly requested constructive feedback and growth path and was never given anything clear. They claim that's because #startupculture but then use that as basis to keep you from advancing or getting a raise when we were all absolutely busting our butts and doing great work. HR does nothing to help. Everything folks are saying about empty promises and virtue-signaling is completely true. Do not work for this company! The way they are treating their employees should demonstrate that they don't know how to care for the well-being of patients. Internal values should match external values, and for Tia, it couldn't be more different.

Pros

In Clinic staff are exceptional humans, each so passionate about what they do. Everyone is compassionate, intelligent, and progressive.

Cons

This company lures you in with their trendy aesthetic and false promises. When you try to advocate for yourself or your team, your concerns will be explained away and shushed. Mistakes are made constantly, but people do not own up to them. In-clinic teams are often the scape goats for corporate mistakes. You will be criticized thoroughly on Slack if a misstep is realized, and can expect multiple people to give you feedback on the same matter, even when they do not work directly with you or are not your direct report. The leadership demonstrates pseudo-transparency that in the beginning you might be persuaded to think is genuine. But changes take place behind the curtain that disadvantage employees (particularly in-clinic or care team), and only contribute to profit. Don't believe the unlimited PTO or stock options in their postings. They give 80 hours per year accrued each pay period, and fail to follow up on stock options once you are hired. This culture is exhausting in its attempt to be feminist and "woke". When honest feedback is given about the culture, founders will play the victim card of being "misunderstood" despite their "good intentions" and "investments in DEI." Social media is performative allyship at best. POC are absent in leadership despite founders "trying their best" to diversify hires. Also disappointing that a company that talks so much about female sexual health has no internal group for LGBTQ+ employees, and does not discuss the topic internally beyond one (new) training on pronouns.
