People of Color, Beware

Pros

Smart and talented teammates, solid mission and industry, great benefits, challenging work, and ability to work remotely

Cons

Poor Leadership - Trusted has been acquiring many senior level management members who fail to recognize their own privileges, biases, and understanding of team operations reporting into them. Recognition is scarce for highly efficient teams but readily available for teams that stroke egos. Trusted leadership time and time fails to address employee burnout. This creates a toxic reactive cycle that has no sight in end for many long-term employees. Diversity as a Trend - Trusted claims to be a champion of diversity in the workplace, but their actions prove exactly the opposite. Just look at senior leadership - not a single person of color in sight, and even more so as they continue to hire outside senior management roles. Another trend includes people of color/people of minority groups being blocked out of promotions or fired, while white colleagues are internally escalated in roles and recognition. Poor Pay - Employee pay is based on location, so any talent that moves or lives outside of large metropolitan areas will not be compensated competitively. The annual performance raises are demotivating and flock mates are often low-balled at the offer stage. Poor Headcount Management - Teams that need support only get it when their team is on fire from burnout or if half of the team leaves. Trusted’s leadership and talent management are not able to work proactively because they are only able to work in a reactive manner.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience working at Trusted. We’re happy to hear that you both feel the quality of teammates is high, and believe in the mission and values of helping everyone get care; that means a lot to us. In addition to a great mission and teammates, Leadership and diversity has a significant impact on the experience of employees — we are committed to holding our leaders accountable for creating supportive and inclusive environments within their teams. We care immensely about DEI and are investing in increasing representation in all departments and levels, while concurrently focusing on a culture of inclusivity. While we are proud that 40% of our Leadership team is female (compared to 25% industry average) we recognize there is work to be done. We are also committed to evolving the systems for how we review and promote, having launched our first comprehensive compensation and performance reviews in Q2 and our v2 slotted for launch Q4 to ensure this is happening — and taking interventive action when it is not. We believe that a culture supportive of diverse perspectives, open dialogue & feedback is critical to our continued growth and success; this clearly wasn’t your experience, and we’re sad to hear it. Our location based pay ensures every person at Trusted to paid fairly for the job market and cost of labor in their area, a system we will continue to refine as the landscape of remote working evolves. If you’d like to continue the conversation with us about your experience, our door is always open — please feel free to email us at peopleops@trustedhealth.com. We really appreciate your feedback, and would like to hear more if you are willing to reach out.

POC's don't Stand a Chance!

Pros

Free healthcare, Starting salary and Remote work

Cons

You start off at Trusted like you would at any company; excited, hopeful and eager to contribute. Over time, you realize that what you were shown was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. I can say with 100% honesty that the other reviews on this page are lived experiences and told from a place of frustration and wanting to spare others from experiencing the same thing. Trusted is not a safe place for POC. They have hired us but have also succeeded in keeping us in a silo so it feels impossible to move up. Trusted has hired POC but only as a way of ticking off the diversity box on their list. In no way, shape or form are they inclusive or inviting to anything or anyone different than the leaders in charge. Speaking from personal experience, management has absolutely no training or the emotional intelligence to understand what it means to have diverse team members and how to create an inclusive environment for ALL and not just a select few. I experienced discrimination at the hands of a leader there. The worst part was that this leader claimed that they didn't realize that they were even being discriminatory, that that wasn't their intention. It doesn't matter what the intention is, what matters is the perception of the person on the receiving end. I am still working through the workplace trauma and PTSD that I sustained while there as a result of those experiences. The leaders at Trusted are not culturally sensitive to anything that doesn't directly correlate to their experiences. They don't do a good job of creating safe spaces for POC to unapologetically be themselves which leads to them feeling ostracized. Trusted has the opportunity and resources to do better. They simply choose not to.

Pros

Great mission, good team members for the most part, working with and getting to know travel nurses on their journey was pretty cool!

Cons

Not a good role for work life/personal life balance, extremely stressful work load, even though you have unlimited PTO you felt horrible taking it and dumping your caseload on your team members because it was that stressful. Most people never took PTO for this reason, to keep in good standing with their colleagues. Decent training in the beginning but could have been way better.

We’re happy to hear that you’re a fan of both the people who work at Trusted and the nurse first culture we’re building– two elements of the company that we care deeply about. Thank you for the feedback about work/life balance and PTO as well; we’re working hard on– and will continue to prioritize– making space and providing opportunities for much needed time-off. Recognizing our teams were taking less PTO during the pandemic we recently launched a campaign to encourage each person to take time off for wellness, and will continue to make opportunities for PTO accessible to our employees. We also doubled the headcount in our operations team to ensure the health and balance of this critical and appreciated team. We thank you for taking the time out to let us know how we can do better.
