Pros

Turbo.net is a small, tight-knit team of incredibly talented individuals that I'm proud to be a part of. The technology stack is impressive and the direction of the products and company is truly exciting. Each developer is entrusted with a lot of creative freedom, and each feature you work on will have a direct impact on the customers. I've never stopped learning or gotten bored of my work in the over 9 years I've worked here. Work hours are flexible and the response to COVID-19 and the transition to WFH has been totally seamless. I am happy with the salary and benefits as well.

Cons

Some HR processes could be formalized and communicated better. These often put on the backburner in order to accommodate for the rapid business and product development. Feature implementation requirements are sometimes unclear and require some back-and-forths over slack to hash out exactly what needs to be done. Thankfully everyone is very responsive and capable of assisting.

Pros

It was easy to get a fully remote position. But maybe that was because of my unusual skillset. I’m mostly a reverse engineer, specializing in low level Windows OS. At first the work was fun and rewarding….

Cons

This is a small startup with a CEO not fully understanding the technical ins and outs of their product. But worst of all, the people on top of the seniority ladder are just career micromanagers. That last one made my last months there quite unbearable. Finally I got fired without a notice over Slack on Friday night when my accounts were blocked. I tried to contact them and the CEO finally got back to me only on Monday.
