Pros

Somehow TMU has managed to get the majority of very good employees. Can’t say the same for leadership.

Cons

• Leadership clearly does not trust their employees and will often point blame towards their own people; don’t expect leadership to fight for you, ever. You will more probably fight your own leadership, regularly. • The worst micro-management I have EVER seen. • Most TMU hires are straight out of school with no job experience and unfortunately are easier to manipulate into believing how they treat you is acceptable for the work environment. • I have not heard of a single performance review completed in any inkling of a timely manner; also good luck getting your bonuses milestones are usually pushed out with no end in sight. • Policies are either not written or written poorly. • No respect for your time and holidays, and no appreciation for additional time and effort put in. • Leadership has a lot of ‘yes’ men and don’t really think about the work that their employees will need to do by promising unrealistic or inconsiderate requests from external parties. Again, leadership will likely not protect you. • Horrible glass ceiling regarding progression at the company. • Favoritism is rampant.

Pros

- great coworkers that work both in and outside of the office to better their skills and create community within the team - great office location in downtown Burbank, close to many restaurants - opportunity to work on big name games, even at an indie studio

Cons

- management manipulates employees, not just with work promises but also emotionally, using personal information given in confidence - CEO's ego to win game of the year is more important than the team's mental health and the projects they work on - Management constantly belittles other coworkers behind their backs, causing turmoil between teams and individuals
