I worked at Turning Point full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the mental health and learning disability business unit. The culture and ethos of the team from the MD to Support Worker was superb. The organisation is truly focussed and driven to provide the best possible support and look after its staff. This is sadly becoming increasingly rare in providers of care, support and recovery. I can’t recommend Turning Point enough to anybody loooking for a new role and looking for career development opportunities.

    Cons

    I didn’t experience any downsides

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you’re doing!!!

I have been working at Turning Point full-time

    Pros

Good organisational structure, not micro managed. Listen to service users and staff to develop services

    Cons

Have become focused on delivering government programs without challenging the system when it is not working.

    Advice to Management

Be more assertive with commissioners and government bodies, there is no room for any further cuts to services

I have been working at Turning Point full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Personally I have been respected and trusted to do my job. I have been given opportunities to develop and build on the good things that TP has to offer.
I have faith in my line manager and I feel that's returned.
Things are better than before. I am able to feel confident about voicing an opinion even if it goes against the grain. I feel listened to
I have had a good experience working for TP and enjoy the challenge .

    Cons

Sometimes great ideas and iniatives aren't always executed well.
As much as I understand why this can't happen in many areas but the pay for front line staff isn't good.
I don't feel nurture enough talent.

    Advice to Management

Promote the brilliant work better outside of TP. No one really knows us.....Encourage people to be better than they where before and celebrate it. Staff leave because they feel they are not supported so invest in those managers to be better managers

    Cons

management are bullies this starts at the top from the regional head who has her favorites and being the biggest bully of them all allows her management team to follow it through

    Advice to Management

sack them all and start again

I have been working at Turning Point full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will meet a number of amazing passionate people and learn a lot on th job.

    Cons

Sickness policy is outrageous with employees not able to afford going off sick. Massive staff turnover, low pay, no appreciation or recognition, management generally uninterested in front line staff issues. disorganized and chaotic, massive workload with no support.

    Advice to Management

get off your high horse and see what reality looks like for front staff,,

I have been working at Turning Point part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

not many that I can think of.

    Cons

To be inspired by some possibilities surly they need to value their team,
After working with NHS and then being tupe over to Turning Point.
Pay awards were scrapped without any information being offered.
working for over 10 years and thinking that I would get a little bonus , then nothing at all?
sent various e mails to the top boss and no response at all , terrible way to treat valuable staff .

I have been working at Turning Point full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Brilliant service users, plenty of overtime

    Cons

Poor rates of pay, no breaks, long hours, poor work/ life balance, poor management, no promotional prospects, poor support when work related injuries force absenteeism, constantly being under paid, some staff get all the best shifts

    Advice to Management

Learn how to run a business and look after your staff. There are legal minimum break requirements in a day, maybe staff should be allowed to take them. Minimum wage is pathetic, your staff do an amazing job and should be rewarded as such.

    Pros

Apart from great hardworking colleagues who support you to get through the day there are no pros

    Cons

Awful management of good staff, dreadful outdated equipment and senior management that dont who engage with frontline staff. Very low morale, high caseload, inadequate supervision leading to burn out.
Its by far the worst place I have ever worked and wished that i had not accepted the job offer

    Advice to Management

    Regular manager refresher training.

    Poor commucation from mangement
    Bullying
You raise issues and they arnt listened to

    Rotas arnt done properly
Still in the darkages when it comes to paper work

    Advice to Management

Listern to your staff and look after them better. Communcate better. Insted of paying management higher rates look at increasing lower level pay
