Pros

Healthshield is good Good phone and laptop Nice offices Showroom demonstrates potential if they can get things right

Cons

- Poor culture and toxic individuals and frosty atmosphere - Despite doing my best to introduce myself and get to know the team, there is a peculiar culture where many people are cold and look the other way when you see them in the corridor. - Toxic internal account managers who made baseless accusations of me stealing their accounts. Many of the insults became personal. If they understood the process they would know all leads end up with the account managers anyway. Equally, I was never getting financial recognition for my work as a clear KPI structure was never out in place. - No plan for how to generate new business. Senior leaders alarmingly and frequently wonder who our target customers should be. I ended up sourcing my own leads and engaging them. - Despite bringing in lots of new leads and reengaging old customers, along with offering ideas on how to improve sales and marketing, there was never an appreciation for my work. This was made clear by a lack of personal development plan. - No working commission structure. Therefore no commission. Also, lacking the systems to measure the progress. This is obviously not ideal for any new business salesperson. - Personally insulted by senior leader as on Teams and email after a relatively obscure disagreement. - During the disagreement I was told I was “aloof and naive.” I therefore set meetings with each senior leader within the business who had allegedly all had issues with me (but never came to me to discuss what they were) but there were no replies nor acknowledgment of the meetings. - No exit interview. I’d have been happy to provide feedback that could have helped the company in the long term but I was swiftly ushered in and out on my last day. - Lack of leadership to steer the sales team and set clear agendas. With the business struggling they cut costs by removing senior leaders. - Lots of operational errors which I was oddly blamed for. A lack of accountability is allowing this to become a common problem, which never endears itself to new customers many of whom never worked with us again after their first order. - Some operational issues led me to need to drive long distances to complete deliveries to fulfil orders as we would have missed deadlines otherwise. For example, I drove from Leicester to Corby to Cardiff to Corby and back to Leicester in one day to deliver an order. Starting at 4am and finishing at 5.30pm. I did this numerous times to various locations to satisfy the customer but with barely any acknowledgment from the company. - Despite a keenness to say they are a family, they are swift and brutal with how they make employees redundant. - Strange how certain individuals had been promoted despite consistently failing to hit their targets. - Account managers lacking sales skills and have an apprehension to proactively sell and rely on reactive inbound orders. This widely affects the rest of the company. - Speaking of “stealing accounts” there are a few account managers more than comfortable with assigning some new accounts to their name when they see that they are ready to place a large order. - Poor conflict managers from senior leaders who make excuses for behaviour and dismiss concerns because their team are “stressed and under pressure.”

Stuck in the Stone Age a bit. Hard to make technological efficiency improvements.
