I worked at Unicom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great people
On fridays they tone it down from very strict to slightly strict
The sales environment when a deal was done was okay

    Cons

    Very Boiler room type job
High labour turnover - Don't expect to make friends as they'll be gone next week
    Pointless strict rules on dress
Nobody seemed happy to work there

    Advice to Management

They make employees feel very much like a hamster on a wheel. Quite a gossipy place

    I worked at Unicom full-time

    Pros

friendly staff with some decent staff incentives. Office did have quite a high tempo feel.

    Cons

Found the office to be unprofessional at times with managers often being inappropriate. The company has a poor staff attrition rate.

    Advice to Management

Hard to know where to start. But I feel more emphasis on listening to staff would be a good start.

    Pros

days go by quick and you get to speak to a lot of different kinds of people. opportunity to get hands-on experience

    Cons

company's not encouraging good behaviour and police people on irrelevant things. work ethic also not a strong suit

    Advice to Management

supervise people on relevant things, and be a bit more proactive when trying to tackle issues, don;t just be there to collect a paycheck

I worked at Unicom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The GMP is excellent and gave me a really good start in my career.

    Cons

They employ some fairly out of date HR policies. Much of the actual call centre was run like a school. White shirt policy, ask if you can use the toilet etc.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing they don't already know.

    I worked at Unicom full-time

    Pros

The staff there are all amazing people, so friendly and down to earth

    Cons

well, after a week of listening to the manager go on about how much money he has you will then be put on the sales floor and FORCED to bring ENERGY into the room, if not you get moaned at saying you need to be loud enough, completely unprofessional management swearing all the time and making fun of other people, if you dont hit your target you are pointed out at the meetings and if you dont bring enough ENERGY then its not the place for you, staff are made to stand up for most of the day and if your call stats are not good enough they demoralise you and put you down, no hot food allowed in the 8 seated kitchen area for over 100 staff working there, all in all its a joke of a company out of my training group only 2 people have ended up staying there, they will hire anyone seriously its a call centre that has been open for over 3 years and only have 12 staff members, their employee turnover is ridiculous, told different things about pay and then when you do get your salary it doesnt even add upto 1000 for 160 hours a month, its pathetiq, AVOID AVOID AVOID

    Advice to Management

be more supportive of your whole staff, not just your 'top hitters', dont ask for so much energy if you concentrate more on the staff being happy there the atmosphere will come naturally
