Pros

Decent pay is the only thing I can give them as a positive. Everything else was absolutely awful at this place.

Cons

No structured training, hostile work environment, Office manager lacks people skills and doesn’t treat associates as human beings. Most rude and manipulative individual I have met in my life. I left an 8 year tenure job for a venture at this employer. After 30 days I was terminated because she felt I was not a “good fit”. I was not given proper training or allowed enough time to excel at my job. Set up for failure from the beginning.

Pros

They are always hiring drivers, the trucks are mostly new, the Newburgh, NY facility was recently built and is clean and modern.

Cons

Management at Unitex has a policy of making sure truck drivers feel as though they are always failing to deliver. It's never enough, no matter what you do, and you are always being watched with room for improvement. There is ALWAYS something with these people. If you show up over 9 minutes before your shift starts and punch in, you're cited & reprimanded for punching in too early. Drivers are allowed a 30 minute lunch break. *Once* I went past that (34min) when finishing my lunch (after having already completed my entire day's run and being just 20 miles away from returning to the terminal) . Got a call & reprimanded from an angry manager who saw on his computer that my truck had been shut down for over 30 minutes when not at a delivery. I could tell you many more stories like this. If you want to be babysat, go have fun at Unitex.
