Nightmare place to work

Pros

There are wonderful and talented people working there, really superb. Most of them are ethical and smart and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

The management is a nightmare. Complete loss of a code of ethics, failure to reign in horrifying management techniques, constant gaslighting, and inability to learn from their mistakes.

Pros

Please, for the sake of your career and health, look elsewhere. If I could rate this company negative stars I would. There are zero pros to working here unless you consider being abused a positive thing. The company went from "barely acceptable" when I started working here about two years (2019) ago to "absolutely disgusting" at the time of writing this (June 2021).

Cons

Universal Cells promotes a culture of rampant emotional and mental manipulation and abuse. Incompetent management at all levels, perhaps due to complete lack of training. Lack of communication and meaningful goal-setting. Vapid, vague, non-actionable, fear-based feedback. If you even get feedback. Insane amount of turnover in every department: ~20% of the company left over the span of a few weeks at the end of 2020. Not to mention the significant number of people who left before/after this time period. Very little to no opportunities for career advancement unless you are deeply involved in office politics and willing to act unethically. Whole company is driven by fear. Previously, this fear was primarily instigated by the founder of the company who is a visceral nightmare to sit in meetings with because he is impossible to please and likes to yell. Now, the fear seems to stem from the never-ending restructuring and reorganizing due to so much turnover and loss of knowledge.
