Pros

Clients are great and staff is excellent. PTO equals 18 days a year to start. This is a great place to learn but there is no reason to invest long term in the company as there have been no talk of any raise in the near or distant future.

Cons

Valley has not provided raises for employees since 2008 and this includes a cost of living raise. Medical benefits and retirement continue to be decreased. There is little to no room for any advancement due to absorption of middle management positions and directors of programs being in charge of 5 to 6 programs to clearly save cost. Little to no effort in maintaining offices and no paid time off for continuing education or conference attendance and Valley does not reimburse for any training. Pay is not competitive with any other agencies.

Valley Behavioral Health Response
10y
Working with Valley can be demanding at times. While we have remodeled over 10 locations during the last year, we still need to be conscientious of our budget as we work on updating each location. Valley does offer tuition reimbursement and as a current employee we hope you take advantage of it. Slack has been a great tool at improving individual’s wellness in the organization and creating an efficient communication channel for our employees. Pros

There are some great employees there but it is no thanks to the supervisors there.

Cons

The position I held there have been 4 people in 18 months. The supervisor is awful and yells at staff yet no one does anything because she has been there so long. Her supervisor could care less because he is in a different building and has no idea what she does. All he is concerned about is the ratings on Glass Door. Do not believe one of these "5 star" references because employees are forced by supervisors to do these reviews and must screen shot them to their supervisors. They totally take advantage of the population they are supposed to be helping. Run do not walk away from this company. If I could give negative stars I would...

Pros

The people within my department.

Cons

It doesn't do any good to try and voice your opinion. Nobody listens and nobody can do anything about it. People have even tried to talk to the Board of Directors to raise concerns and lo and behold those people are no longer are on the board. Friends of the 'higher -up' wind up getting employed that also cater to "someone's" every whim. The irony is this is a mental health company and the environment is creating more mentally ill within the company because of this lunacy. Things that are broken do not get fixed, and things that aren't broken are getting revamped and it makes things worse. Employee are now offered 2 weeks of vacation right up front, so they work one day and then quit with their 2 weeks of paid vacation. The turn around is astronomical.
