Pros

I now have a good understanding of how not to run a software company.

Cons

Acquired by Valsoft who made a bunch of promises about how we would be invested in, have opportunities to collaborate with other businesses in the group, were family and would be given autonomy. This is a complete fantasy. All that is important is this years balance sheet, there is zero understanding of how software companies work and management actively try to push quality people away to save pennies. Valsoft have repeatedly broken multiple companies and refuse to learn from their mistakes, then wonder why they are constantly firefighting. Management joked how they went with a trademarked name so they could con people into thinking they were part of that organisation. Said "all your jobs are safe" and then a month later were asking who they could get rid of. Salaries are poor with little/no other benefits, increase caps are in place so if you are at the beginning of your career you get screwed. Management is a boys club, so if you an outsider forget about career advancement. Zero useful communication from management, any meetings involving the group's leadership is a disaster (level of un-preparedness is borderline unprofessional). If you have any desire to create anything in the long term this is not the place for you. If you get acquired by this crowd, run. Complete house of cards.

No consistency

Pros

They offer remote positions and autonomy.

Cons

Management can’t decide how they want to run things so there are frequent restructures. Benefits are pretty much non existent No sense of company culture or communication on a company wide level especially for remote employees who are often left in the dark.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad you appreciated the flexibility and autonomy we offer through remote work. While we're proud of the independence we provide, we understand how important structure, clear communication, and a strong sense of culture are—especially for remote employees. As a company that’s evolving rapidly, we continuously strive to improve internal communication and consistency across teams. Your feedback is valuable in that process. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and thank you for your time with us. Jennifer
