Pros

The people I happened to have worked with. I liked the team - they warm up very quickly and are kind. All managers are nice but they are stretched thin because of the structure of the company so its annoying being around them.

Cons

The company is structured so that they can exploit the sales assistant to the furthest. It is the responsibility of the sales assistant to do things that other people should be payed for or should be done with the help of people. You are expected to know everything without training because management is too busy to train you. Setting your boundaries in any way (your time, breaks, health) is a problem for them. Managers are overworked so they also treat you like sh!t. You don't even get a break on your off days. They will overwhelm your phone with requests at the morning and throughout the day with things that are unfinished. They demand professionalism from all their employees yet act irresponsibly towards their employees. Retail in general is exploitative but this is one of the worst ones. Better off somewhere else if you want an okay job that doesn't suck the soul from you. Small discount outside of free food.

Pros

nothing good to say about this 💩 company

Cons

First and foremost, the management was highly disorganized and often unresponsive to employee concerns. This lack of communication led to frequent scheduling errors, causing confusion and unnecessary stress. Additionally, there was a noticeable lack of support and training for new employees, leaving many of us feeling unprepared and overwhelmed by our duties. The workload was consistently heavy, with unrealistic expectations placed on sales assistants. We were often understaffed, leading to long hours and insufficient breaks. This not only affected our performance but also our morale, as it felt like our well-being was not a priority. To save on labor costs, management would purposefully understaff shifts, further exacerbating these issues. Moreover, the company’s emphasis on upselling and meeting sales targets created a high-pressure environment that felt more focused on profit than customer satisfaction. This approach often resulted in a lack of genuine customer interaction, which was disappointing considering the premium nature of the products we were selling. Additionally, Venchi has been cutting corners to reduce production costs. They have removed many of the previous ingredients, compromising the quality of their products. The ice cream scoops given to customers were noticeably smaller, an attempt to save on goods' costs. Such practices felt dishonest and undermined the brand's reputation for quality. Finally, the compensation did not reflect the demands of the job. The pay was relatively low given the amount of work and stress involved, and there were minimal opportunities for advancement or raises, which contributed to a lack of motivation among staff.
