Pros

The Comrades I made and left the "Organization" with and some basic tech knowledge I learned from my own resources. Developed a method of strategic communication with Executive Tech Leadership while here. Other than that - not much. I use the term "Organization" loosely as this Company lacks any of it. Frankly, "Purgatory" could be used as both an adjective and noun when referring to this place.

Cons

Where to begin? -Take a drive to the parking lot on ANY GIVEN day and count the amount of cars worth more than $10,000 OR newer than 2005. It won't take long because there's not many. It's a "Staffing Agency" with doors open to the public, feel free to peek in - the Screen directly across from you shows the Sales numbers of the ENTIRE Company - take note of how "significant" they are. -Compensation is Grossly inflated. Don't kid yourself people - it's a $2 million a year Company and always will be. Split that between; the 2 Narcissistic and washed out "Executives" (Both claiming ridiculous numbers) - subtract figures for office rent and cost of Recruiting tools - then divide that number by the 15 or so "meat grinder" of employees. You'll end up with $50,000 a head. IF you're LUCKY. (This is all public knowledge people, do your research on Manta and LinkedIn - Some employees have not changed their LinkedIn profiles but you can see who's active and who isn't based on their "Premium" Badge) -You'll work "FURIOUSLY" sourcing and engaging candidates thinking "hard work" pays off in the end. You'll be sadly exhausted and disappointed every paycheck that comes in. Your spirits will be brightened by with hope as you hear about people getting placements - then you discover all their money is paying off their "draw" and "credit cards". You'll again be disappointed. -You'll be told by the "Executives" to wait for commissions on "retained accounts" because the "client hasn't paid" - then watch the "Executive" drive up in a new $100,000 Porsche and berate everyone for their production numbers - telling all of you that "hard work pays off". -You'll DIRECTLY COMPETE with the 2 "Executives" for Candidate/Client ownership and guess who loses that battle? Do you think that's a Conflict of Interest in terms of Leadership? I'll let ya'll decide. -You'll watch as your Comrades are verbally slaughtered in meetings - whether they're producing or not. -You'll discover VerticalMove and "Amway" have the EXACT same allure and pitch to entice you. You'll be disappointed. -You'll have to work with the two Account Managers (you guessed it - the "Executives") to push candidates through. Your submittals may sit for 3 weeks (along with everyone else) - there is no explanation or acceptable answer for this. -You'll be promised glorious trips to Mexico if targets are met; only to later meet targets and watch the "Executive" sneak out the back door for a 2 week stint. All the while berating the Entire Company by email from afar for lack of "production" -You'll watch accounts you've developed partnerships ripped from your hands - only to be told good paying clients with immediate hiring needs are "not top priority" over the "retained accounts" already in play. Who's accounts? (you guessed it; the 2 "Executives") -You'll watch as fellow employees (grown men) with H1-B's leave the office crying for fear of losing their Citizenship. You'll share a drink with all your Comrades and hear directly what was said. You'll be enraged. -You'll hear stories from the "Executive" laughing how he cheated on his Wife with his Ex-Wife and several other Women. He'll then pull out his phone and show you his "Prenuptial agreement" next to his "Marriage License". You'll be disgusted. -If you're a Female prepare to use "what mom gave you" otherwise you'll be treated much worse than the Men. You'll be fired after a Company trip for yelling at the "Executive" when he "Physically Groped" you in shallow waters. -You'll also be Groped in a Boat on Lake Washington in front of other Employees and humiliated because it's your Job on the line and you need to make your car payment. -You'll have to sign an absurd "document" stating any idea you have during employment is the sole property of VerticalMove. After which you'll have to call your Attorney for a (hearty, I might add) laugh of course. -You'll make necessary preparations and gather evidence for a full on battle in court. -You'll wind up leaving a review like this to other potential employees warning them of the risks. -You'll receive some sort of response from the Employer either saying "sorry you're the only one who feels this way" or flat out denies the allegations.

Without a doubt, this is the most deplorable post on all of Glassdoor. It’s unfathomable that anybody who’s worked for our company would make such deceitfully statements. We’re deeply saddened that Glassdoor would allow its community to make libelous and defamatory remarks pertaining to an innocent female who has absolutely no affiliation to our company. Implying infidelity destroys families and people’s lives and is not worth the smear campaign. Furthermore, the age and value of one’s automobile doesn’t define their success. This review speaks more to your character than it does of ours.

Pros

The potential is great as well as the PTO.

Cons

Micromanagement, no work life balance, realistically you will not be making anywhere near the seniors. It is honestly so bad that you can tell half these reviews are fake and made by management in the company. Be smart, save yourself the time, do not fall for a corny email saying they are looking for a certain personality and its yours.

Pros

Make good money $$$ Become one of the most technical recruiters in the industry Colleagues are somewhat helpful Commission structure is unbelievably well constructed

Cons

CEO demonstrates sexual misconduct towards his female employees to protect his own interests as CEO. Women, if you TRUST Matt to take care of you as an employee and treat you with respect and dignity, you will be sadly mistaken. Account managers do not share reqs and will only submit their own candidates. Must work from 7am - 8pm or LATER and must work weekends in order to meet Matt's standards. If you DO NOT you will be let go within a few weeks.

Your remark about sexual misconduct is absolutely concerning and egregious. We maintain a very professional relationship with all our current and former female employees. In fact, our HR Director started part-time in the summer of 2008 while still in High School, rejoined the company after college, and for the last six-years has worked her way up to becoming a Director. There is absolutely no discrimination within our company and have an incredibly diverse team from various walks of life. The standard(s) that our CEO holds the company to are actually set on an individual employee basis. At the beginning of each quarter our employees define their own envisioned accomplishments through a process we call "production planning". There is NEVER a moving target, only the target the employee set for themselves. So in theory, working outside of the normal 8-5 isn’t necessary in order to meet our CEO’s standards, it might sometimes be necessary in order to meet the standards and commitment that the individual employee has promised the company and the team they’re part of. The only expectations (and standards) that our CEO has are for his team to deliver upon what they’ve committed and promised, which isn’t an unreasonable expectation for any high performance company. We're serious about building a great culture and company, please feel free to share any additional feedback: verticalmove@verticalmove.com.
