Do not work here

Pros

There isn't a single pro to working here unless you are a convicted felon or cannot get a job anywhere else.

Cons

Need to post my google review here so I can copy and paste from other device. I have worked at some sketchy, welfare places in my life but this mine takes the cake by far, Victoria Gold had to make it so people can't leave reviews on Indeed or Facebook because they have such a bad reputation. Right from the start of my hiring, this place was a nightmare. HR no showed my 1st interview and was absolutely miserable to deal with the whole time, constantly forgetting to send relevant information then getting snarky when you asked or just flat out ignore you. They have rules and procedures but they don't matter, bring guys up in isolation but then jam everyone in board rooms and trucks with no masks, mixing isolated and non isolated people together. Put you through lock out tag out training but then have no locks, do fit testing but have no respirators, seriously amateur hour 24/7 up here. Refuse to give you basic tools or consumables needed to do the job. Safety is non existant, every rule gets broken and every procedure is ignored with absolutely no accountability. As a dual jman red seal with supervisory and safety officer tickets this place is an absolute nightmare. People pretend to fix things and no one checks anyone's work making it even more hazardous for the next guy. Tradesman quit 1st rotation and half a dozen people will quit at once but nothing changes, they just bring up whoever they can and give them whatever title they need to fill out their paperwork. Safety incidents are swept under the rug and ignored unless they have no choice but to report it. Guys in camp are slobs and ignorant, bathrooms are disgusting and you will never get a full night's rest. I feel horrible for the cleaning staff and kitchen crew, pretty much need to assign a babysitter nanny to every dorm up here. No place to store your things properly, can't dry your boots. Hardly any vehicles to use and the ones here are not safe to drive. Windows are so cracked you can't even see out of them. People here want to quit and if they don't it's because they cannot get a job anywhere else. This place is an abomination and embarrassment. Management and corporate are trying to make it look like something it's not so they can sell it off and move on to their next project, Banyan just up the road. Someone will die here soon which will then force them to make changes. Until then, avoid this place at all costs.

Time for a new camp

Pros

There are a lot of good people that work there

Cons

Camp is a dump and the food is pretty rough. A bit too much micromanaging from some of the mid level managers that don’t really understand what it is they are forcing people to do and it’s hurting the business.

Don't bother

Pros

It's an option if you're desperate but the mold in camp, terrible food, and dust make it not worth sticking around. You will likely get most of the hours worked paid.

Cons

Working conditions and camp are terrible. Consistent problems with being paid for the hours worked. No parts to do the jobs properly. KPI above all.
