Pros

A good lesson in how to build thick skin and potentially how to bite your own tongue off!

Cons

> Poor Training > Extremely Capitalist and your value is directly correlated to the appointments you set for upper management. Management motivates you with hyper-masculine competition and the promise of greatness, when most of their employees can barely afford rent. > Leaders will steal jobs or appointments set by employees and find any reason to cut you out of a deal. > No HR, Sensitivity training or consequences for colleagues creating a toxic work environment. Constant misogyny, racism and homophobia. This is not a workplace that values differing points of view and minorities should be cautious when applying. > Little to no diversity in the workforce (mainly straight, cis men) > Something of an MLM where the top gets fed well, but the bottom/entry level employees are barely scraping by > They don't tell you in the beginning, but you need at least 3-6 months savings to rely on before you see any real profit (if you can make it that long) > Recruiter grossly oversold the position and lied about earning potential, tax forms and benefits (was told it was W2 and full benefits by recruiter, but on first day 1 was handed a 1099 and told there were no benefits) > This is a fickle industry and while it's not really their fault, it's like pulling teeth to get paid out here. Projects can be delayed for weeks, months or indefinitely and you won't receive payment until project completion (i.e. extreme financial insecurity with little to no concern from management about your wellbeing, rent or bills) > Was told verbatim to 'make friends with my landlord' in an effort to prepare them for me to be regularly late on rent. > Regularly mandate that you go on a 'Blitz' in lower income neighborhoods, which feels scammy and predatory when talking about $30,000-100,000 solar projects. Plus, the company will pay for an Airbnb (not always with enough beds for everyone) but not provide even basic food for people to eat while staying on these mandatory trips. > You are a 1099 contractor, however they are constantly requiring and mandating you be present at meetings, outings and 'in the field' by certain times and will threaten disciplinary action if you fail to comply. > Often times will inform you of a meeting happening at 8AM the next morning at 10PM the night before. > No control or oversight of company GroupMe account. Consultants are liable to say just about anything and everything at any time of day including problematic and incendiary comments.

Great people but not everyone is honest.

Pros

There are some really nice people/teammates! I appreciated that it wasn't a slimy sales organization. Very honest with customers on what they do/sell! Enjoyed working with Ryan and Bryce, they were great with my groups on-boarding and training!

Cons

To be clear, the "sales consultant" and "sales consultant in training" are door to door sales jobs. I was hired under the impression my job was one thing in the interview and after being hired it was much different than he told me it would be. Pay for the majority of employees is commission or a very tiny base pay plus commission. They do not pay market wages and they changed the pay structure without the choice of what I was told I would make vs the new plan. Also, there are different sales members on different pay "plans". The job was also not in the city that was posted on the job posting. Unrealistic expectations and not always honest with employees or make empty promises. Some leaders talk down to you and believe that they shouldn't have to provide you with all the tools necessary to do your job but that if you want to work for them you'll make the sacrifice when you can work for other companies that will provide those things and real benefits for you.

Pros

-Good training and Leadership. -7 years of sales. It's either opportunity or compensation Voltaic gives BOTH. They give you freedom of time and money. -It is Incredibly rare and generous that a CEO will give 1099 employees medical benefits it gives you a Picture of how they care about their employees.

Cons

They lack a bit on systems so getting business cards and leads sheets can be tedious.
