Pros
-amazing colleagues -flexible schedule -willing to hire straight out of college/little to no experience in field -fulfilling work in addiction and mental health field
Cons
-long onboarding process -will take advantage of naivety re: compensation (pays comparable education/experience anywhere between $16 and $21/hr at hire) -will not do performance reviews or yearly raises -nearly impossible to get a merit raise -high turnover/perpetually understaffed (some employees do the job of 4 people without adjustment of compensation as they take on more and more responsibilities) -requires a pay non disclosure agreement which is illegal -keeps highly unethical people onboard (one employee gave his subordinate a fake COVID vaccine card so they could attend a concert, departmental disregard for HIPAA violations, sexual harassment) -unsustainable “productivity” expectations -focuses on “growth” without mastering (or even achieving adequacy in) current acquisitions -dishonesty, keeps employees in the dark about important things
