Pros
Direct boss and team were great
Cons
Obviously the RTO video that went viral was dreadful and is not helping their cause but this happened after I resigned so it didn’t affect me but really goes to show the culture. Innovation is slooooow and projects just don’t seem to get finished. Plans I submitted a year before for a simple project were still not completed by the time I left. Good ideas were constantly shut down due to budget reasons or lack of resources. My commission structure was changed meaning I took home less pay and the “OKR’s” (targets) they set me weren’t anything in my power (and if they had completed the projects I had handed over to other depts this may have been different). No pay rises or bonuses. We were all given a $30 “gift” for Christmas which was pretty insulting given how much effort and work we put in. No real understanding of where our careers were going internally - I got the impression that we’d peaked and there would be no promotion any time in the future. Hiring freeze so when people leave they just expect you to absorb your colleagues role and workload. Not my job sorry. In general the culture is very…”stiff”. Forced monthly Town Hall meetings on Zoom, the tone of voice used by upper management. Everything just felt a little “Office Space” if you’ve seen the movie. Just a very dry atmosphere, especially when going into the office. I feel like American office culture has moved on progressively since Covid and these folks just aren’t keeping up.
