Pros

* Free food * Central London location * Able to get promoted quickly if doing favours for management

Cons

* No training for new grads. Try any other trading firm if you’re a grad * Horrible work-life balance (working until midnight, 9am-12am on weekend shifts) * Obscure compensation structure, hidden equity packages, bonus package terms changes throughout the year. Encourage ownership mentality for new joiners but don’t give any equity to new people * Slapped with a 1-year non-compete * Comments about management: * Condescending messages in Slack and in meetings from management, pretty rude overall * No regular team meetings, the ones that are scheduled get postponed at short notice multiple times * Review process only happens twice a year with little to no written feedback, no meaningful feedback processes otherwise throughout the year * Good ideas get taken up by managers without giving enough credit, encouraging work on projects in secret * General unhappiness interpreted as "employees being unable to keep up with the competitive environment" instead of management addressing issues with culture, team dynamics, etc. * CEO spends more time on Twitter than working on improving the company

Pros

Food. Office Location, just off oxford street and TCR

Cons

Very strange and toxic work environment; would really urge those who have other serious opportunities to take them and not to ruin or dilute your career by working here; don't get sucked in with the free food and cultish attitude. As a business: there is no HR, no qualified compliance personnel, very little diversity and crypto is a very small part of the financial world; working here feels very limiting for your future. The company has a toxic cult feeling; a weird popularity contest where people behave like it’s high school. Accepting this role is probably one of the worst mistakes of my career and i cant wait to leave! My reasons for joining the firm, were career growth, future career possibilities and learning opportunities this is FAR from anyone’s reality, just checked linkedin for yourself; nobody here has grown or developed beyond the role they were initially hired for & thats if they last! There is a reason they are constantly hiring for multiple roles, despite being so small & it’s not growth! Upper & mid management do not care about anything other than themselves/ their money. On top of this: there’s no work life balance, I am all for working hard and doing long hours and professional challenges, but a lot of it is window dressing and constant unhealthy competition between employees instead of a collaborative and cohesive environment. I witness on a day to day basis quite a bit of soft bullying.

Pros

Good pay. Good perks. Nice colleagues.

Cons

I worked there for a bit over a year; I wanted to quit after the first week. It's the most toxic work environment I've ever worked in. If you're thinking about joining as a dev, do yourself a favor and google "wintermute cto control freak reddit". I constantly felt burnt out. The entire leadership team was remarkably out-of-touch with reality.
