I found a genuine 'Great Place to Work'

      Pros

Culture: positive and engaging. Supportive and incredibly people focus. Companies apply lip service to this, WWT does it through its own organics...very rare.

      Cons

None right now...It's all been a genuine mix of use your knowledge and experience, work well with others...and get results...

A True Great Place to Work

      Pros

WWT UK is a true great place to work. Having worked at WWT for over 5 years, I have seen the organizations growth from just over 10 employees to 100+. The one thing that has remained consistent is the focus on culture, ensuring that employees are top priority from management and consistent support is provided. This has been highlighted even more during the last 6 months, working at home during a global pandemic. The way the team have come together, supported each other, maintained moral and continued to achieve sales targets is incredible. The career and growth opportunities that have been provided to me, as a young professional, I am truly grateful for. The ability to raise ideas, have your voice, and be heard is something that sets WWT UK apart. Everyone is treated equally and have a voice no matter your seniority level or experience. This has enabled me to grow my career and achieve a leadership position whilst being supported by many mentors across the organisation. I am lucky to be a part of the Global Service Provider team currently and cannot talk highly enough of the team. A great group of people to work with, a team of experts in their field and a fantastic environment to learn and develop every day. The team has a true family feel and I can honestly say really enjoy coming to work every day.

      Cons

With fast growth come significant change, sometimes internal processes and structure suffer to support this pace of change.

      Pros

I've been lucky enough to work with lots of different parts of the organisation globally and have always been greeted by brilliant, smart and dedicated employees. The UK team is no exception and leadership ensures the culture that is led by our CEO is fully embraced and delivered locally. The Service Provider team is a smaller division of the wider UK group and in particular, has a real family feel about it. Everyone helps each other, there are lots of opportunities to grow and develop new skills, and leadership provides lots of trust and support to be successful in your role and deliver for customers. There have been some great initiatives put in place to help elevate the team and our offering for customers which are slowly being built upon, everyone is able to contribute and provide input. I personally find the culture extremely meritocratic and puts individuals in the driving seat of their own success.

      Cons

The team is fairly lean and there is always lots to do but presents great opportunities to learn and grow. The growth is impressive but brings about constant change and challenges, again, with a positive mindset this is something that presents an opportunity to learn and grow for those who want to.

Impressive at first but overall disappointing

      Pros

      - Jim K is a great CEO - great access to technology - amazing experts and people - Customers love WWT, which makes everyone very proud of it

      Cons

(my thoughts are about the UK business - in the US WWT seems to have very few if any cons!) - it is a bit 'smoke and mirrors': there are several innovative 'initiatives' and interesting projects but in the end they tend to go nowhere. The reality is that WWT is a business that sells 'boxes' (mostly Cisco and Dell) and its accompanying supply chain and enterprise licences. - Bad bad managers! WWT fell on the same trap as many companies: promoting good individual contributors (usually salespeople who smash targets) to management positions, even when they have none of the qualities needed to manage teams. It means lack of structure, no clear direction, endless meetings where the organiser (usually the director/senior VP) shows up very late or doesn't shop up at all... and above all, a 'firefighting' culture: you can't plan your days ahead because every day the management comes up with something that needs to be done immediately. - Lack of transparency. From time to time there is the announcement of a big win that was made behind closed doors between the senior leader, the vendor and the customer. Sometimes a PO comes from nowhere, you as part of the account team don't know what it is, but the message from the top is 'don't worry about it, I'll take care of it'. Overall WWT is a great company, but only if you don't mind working in a sales-led environment with no structure, bad management, no focus and no time to think clearly, but under the illusion that everything is great. (because sales targets are being met)
