Pros

Consistent work, helpful staff, decent money if you know how to work the system. If you can write on any topic, you can make a decent amount of money here without dedicating your whole day to it. The pay per article is not the best, but it's also not the worst when compared to sites that pay under 2CPW. If you read the forums, you'll see how most of the biggest earners are making most of their money. There are lots of helpful people on the forums.

Cons

The company has evidently been taken over by an equity firm, because there was talk about "investors" and "partners" after the last pay cut. It seems that at the last of the month, articles are rated lower, which pays less. This may be because of a certain limit they are given to pay out for articles each month by the "partners," who expect a certain return on their money. I've seen this same scenario on other sites that have tied up with equity partners. Most of the topics are hard to write on, and if you are someone who can't knock out a listicle on any subject, you may not do well here. Plus, the drop times are insane; 5 a.m. ET (6 a.m. DST) and then at 7-8 p.m. at night. The way the new system is set up makes it hard to get the topics you can easily write without sitting and refreshing for a long time, which is not worth it to me, so I only submit during the larger drops at certain times of the month. There are too many writers for the volume of work. The forum has a lot of whiners and sycophants who never contribute anything helpful, and there is a lot of infighting going on. You have to learn to ignore them and look for the members who are helpful, and not get dragged into the drama.

Pros

The work is very simple. Write what basically amounts to a five-paragraph essay or a listicle on the topic given. Pay is reliable and done via Paypal. On rare occasions when there are issues with payment, they are resolved quickly and professionally. There is a forum for writers.

Cons

The company recently decided to drop the pay given to freelancers. This announcement came in the same email that thanked the writers for their hard work and said that the company was growing and that business was booming. The articles are used on linkbait sites, so no one actually reads them, but the reviewers (mostly college students or recent grads) often complain that readers would not be interested in the topic written about. These reviewers have the authority to lower the writers' pay per piece, which they do. Borderline black-hat SEO practices are used. Communication is mediocre at best.

Pros

Work from home opportunity. Provides a higher pay per piece than many content mill type websites. When work was/is available, it can be a decent side job.

Cons

Jobs have dried up and payment per piece has decreased. Pieces can be dropped one star for one minor grammar mistake, which lowers the amount paid. Conflicting reviews from editors make writing to specification difficult.
