The company is a shadow of its former self, with more people having left or been fired than those currently employed. People are regularly fired or laid off, sometimes quit. The latest round of layoffs affected employees who had been hired only a few weeks prior. The environment is pessimistic and defeatist. Management prioritizes performance over culture to an extreme degree because of the pressure to deliver, but even if you perform well, you must also be fortunate enough to work on a project that doesn't get scrapped after a few months. Talk to ex-employees before joining and fact-check everything said to you during the recruitment process. Better yet, avoid.
