Pros

- Company is full of young passionate people- shame the SLT are not passionate about them. - Very close knit teams, with very friendly lower level staff. - Once upon a time you was treat well, staff benefits were given and you had a great working environment. - New office space downstairs was great. - Great HR support.

Cons

- Under qualified management - No investment to staff training, qualifications for this role - Very low salary compared to the rest of the industry market - All employee benefits raved about on job adverts are non existent since beginning of the year - No flexible working ours or allowing staff to work from home. People fired in the past from refusing to come back into office due to COVID-19. - Blame culture. - Unpaid but expected overtime - Huge amount of redundancies made creating a scare mongering environment that if you do not put in extra hours, you’ll be next- leading to a lot of loyal staff leaving for better paid jobs with much better working environments. - Much rather higher cheap, young adults then hire experienced people in the fields they need, leading to pressure and blame out on individuals from SLT if performance is not as expected. -CEO very hands on, not allowing managers to do their jobs, often contradicting some of their decisions even when wrong. - You feel like you’re just a number. - Repurpose staff that have done a role for a great number of years with not even a days notice and no other option into a role they have 0 experience in and offer no training at all in.

I appreciate the time taken to give your feedback, although it would have been more productive if this feedback was given at the time so we can better understand your points You make a number of comments, over which half are inaccurate or not true. It is unfortunate that you felt like a number in the business as that is the exact opposite of the values which I and the management proactively avoid. Infact to the contrary we have many success stories of people progressing in the company and it is something I am personally passionate about. Offering alternative roles to people in the warehouse, seeing some of our apprentices progress into mid and even senior type roles, launching the Step-into employment program for those in need and giving them an opportunity to work and support themselves. It is disingenuous to say “All benefits were removed”. We paused 2, the bonus system and the Wheel of Awesome. Out of the 20+ benefits, I am proud of supporting benefits such as enhanced parental leave, earn additional holidays (time served), modern facilities with brand new equipment, Discount scheme on purchases, EAP programme, and the continuation of providing a free flu jab for every employee and many more benefits. “All benefits” have not been removed. I'm sorry you feel aggrieved and it is a shame you are anonymous making it it impossible to understand your context and position. I will say that I am proud of the company and what it has achieved to support the local economy and we will continue in that vein. It’s been a difficult time dealing with the effects Covid, Brexit and growth. For the last 17 years we have continued with our values and refined the way we work and continually improved facilities and environment for our work family. Today we continue to support our work family and I fear you are confusing dealing with difficult times with the attitude of the company. I hope you find a better fit elsewhere. Founder Nick

Pros

The staff is young, everyone is friendly and incredibly easy to get on with. Even in management positions. Modern offices with good facilities and free coffee.

Cons

Benefits are weak at the best of times and at the worst - non-existent. Be ready to be paid way below market salary regardless of the role. This includes managerial roles also. When times get hard senior management dismiss all employee concerns and pretend like they can't see how everyone below them is feeling. Seniors can even turn hostile when concerns are raised. No flexibility in working hours and no ability to work from home. Even when it was proven that it can be done. Overall - if you're interested in earning a good living this isn't the place for you.

Thank you for the feedback, and yes the coffee and facilities have been heavily invested in! Being anonymous makes it difficult to understand your experience which is a shame, so please feel free to make contact as you have my details. I don’t understand why people accept a job and then say wages are unacceptable. There is personal responsibility that needs to take priority. Not everyone values the highest salary and some like the work environment, the interesting and challenging problem solving we do on a daily basis, maybe even the location which saves them money or allows them to spend more time at home. Many individuals have received many wage increases over the years. From 2018-2019 we committed to a 10% company wide increase. Over 200 wage increases have happened since 2019 and beyond. I must disagree that benefits are “Non-existent” and it is clear that you want to paint a picture that is not accurate. We paused the bonus system and the Wheel of Awesome. “No flexibility in working hours and no ability to work from home” is a false statement. We launched a trial of SMART working / Remote working in a number of departments. Even today we have welcomed onboard a remote colleague that can deliver what is needed. It has been a tough period for colleagues and the company and I am proud of those people committed to the company who want to work together and get a job done. We have goals and aspirations which we can all benefit and prosper from. The company has a bright future with growth opportunities in products and sales channels, and our medium to long term objectives have not changed. Our values are very important to the company and through the leadership teams, we ensure our 7 values are kept at the forefront of our minds. We will continue to build trusted relationships and nurture our work family and hopefully find the fun along the way. We are proud and humble of our colleagues’ support through this period of change.
