      Foot in the door into IT, at the cost of your soul

      Pros

      Good experience through a vast variety of tech. School staff are generally welcoming and nice people (they become your best friends) Ability to work on your own and self delegate.

      Cons

      Management structure is downright painful. Be prepared to run “errands” that have nothing to do with IT and everything to do with the bosses personal life. Traineeship wages are just barely above minimum award. Constant travel driving from school to school or school to office. You become dispensable labour for the boss

      Pros

      Its a decent way to earn some coin while earning a qualification.

      Cons

      The boss knows that this is a stepping stone and that you are being paid minimum wage. He will manipulate you into running around doing his own personal errands rather than completing work. You will be overburdened with insane amounts of work which the pay doesnt even come close to justifying.

      Scamming Schools 101

      Pros

      The company does really well taking advantage of schools funds by getting them to buy upgrades they dont need. Pay 3 x amount for support they can get elsewhere and from an actual qualified tech.

      Cons

      The techs are trainees however the owner is extorting customers as if the techs were qualified. Doesnt help when one of the techs accidentally wipe a principals computer and the entire company has a meeting to think of an excuse.
